Permanent price cuts in place for the Microsoft Lumia 640 and Microsoft Lumia 640 XL at Expansys

Permanent price cuts in place for the Microsoft Lumia 640 and Microsoft Lumia 640 XL at Expansys
Expansys USA is wielding a sharp price cutting ax these days, and the online retailer took some meaty chunks off the price of both the Microsoft Lumia 640 and Microsoft Lumia 640 XL. Originally $209.99, the Lumia 640 is now priced at $174.99 for a 17% discount. The larger Lumia 640 XL is now tagged at $199.99, a healthy 31% price cut from the $289.99 that the phone was selling for. Both handsets are sold unlocked.

The Lumia 640 XL has been a red hot seller for Expansys USA over the past several weeks. The phone has out sold many of the top selling Android models during this time period, which is something that should continue given the price cut. The Lumia 640 XL features a 5.7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280. The Snapdragon 400 SoC contains a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU and the Adreno 305 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of internal, expandable storage. The 13MP Zeiss camera on back has an f/2.0 aperture, and there is a 5MP front-facing snapper. The lights are kept on thanks to the 3000mAh battery inside.

The Lumia 640 comes with a 5-inch LCD screen carrying a 720 x 1280 resolution. While much of the hardware is shared with its larger-screened sibling, the Lumia 640 has an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a .9MP snapper on the front. With the smaller screen comes less demand for power, which is why the Lumia 640 has a lower capacity 2500mAh battery aboard.

If you're looking to snag the Lumia 640 or Lumia 640 XL at a great price, Expansys USA might have the deal you're looking for. The price cut is permanent, so you can start filling up the change jar if you want to save up for either phone.

After buying every MS slider phone released, I wouldn't take another Windows phone if you gave it to me for FREE,

It's selling so much, and its a hot seller, so we are giving it a permanent price cut. That's how you make good business. If something is selling so much then it makes sense to do a big price cut. Yeah, right!!!

I didn't say it was a good seller but to not take a Windows phone even at free tells how stupid one might be on this site.

well I will take any phone free, if microsoft is will to give... price cut is the step in right direction. Microsoft should sell phones in lowest possible price at the moment to get as many people as microsoft can. Profits are not that important at the moment than getting as many customers as possible to jump ship to windows 10. To increase diminishing presence should be the prime goal

This has been Microsoft's strategy since it acquired Nokia's cellphone business.

I'm desperately considering a lumia flagship. Awaiting their new release. I wish it has the 41mp lens, small display and chassis with lots of horsepower and very good battery life. If these were checked, then it may finally be the phone to sway me into windows phone territory. Oh, and a metallic build would be the icing.

Ya me too, i hope they don't call any lumia as flagship without the 41mp. when u so use to the 41mp crop and zoom.. no way to upgrade to a flagship which is downgraded to a 20mp or 24mp. or 940 - flagship. 1030 flagship pro. :-)

The successor to the Lumia 1020 will most likely come in 2016(While I would prefer one over a what they will release this year, I'll probably get what they release this year and then buy the 1020's successor next year), they will probably release a successor to the Lumia 930 and 1520 this year.

To keep it selling, that's why. Or they might be releasing new phone later this year.

Bull, if something is selling really well, then there is no need to do a price cut. Because it can sell itself if its really good.

$199 for the 640XL is a pretty great deal. I really hope they have another phablet between the 640XL and the 950XL

Would this mobile work in India if I purchase it in USA?

Would this mobile work in India if I purchase it in USA? I was hoping to get a 640 XL LTE version. Would compromise with a plain 640 XL if it can work properly in India given the differences in the radio frequencies.
