Nokia X full specs revealed ahead of May 16 unveiling
Nokia X, HMD Global's first foray into the notch display design, is expected to go official in China on May 16. However, the handset was showcased early this month at an exhibition in Beijing where HMD had all its smartphones on display for everyone to see and try.

Unfortunately, the Nokia X showcased at the event was locked and no details about specifications were made available. The good news is the smartphone recently paid a visit to the Chinese Telecommunication Agency and much of the hardware inside has been revealed in the listing.

Apparently, the mid-range smartphone will sport a 5.8-inch display with FHD+ resolution (2280 x 1080 pixels) and 3,000 mAh battery. On the inside, the Nokia X has been confirmed to pack a 1.8GHz octa-core processor, paired with 3GB, 4GB or 6GB RAM.

As far as the storage goes, Nokia X will be available in two variations based on the amount of internal memory – 32GB and 64GB, but both will feature microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

The 16-megapixel dual-camera might not include Zeiss lenses as we initially thought, but they might be added to the international model. Finally, the Nokia X will run Android 8.1.0 right out of the box and will be available in three colors: Black, Blue, and Silver White.

But the rumored 3000 mah battery for the Nokia X just kills it for me. I don't know why brands have such grudge against 4000 mah batteries.

You don’t need huge batteries if the processor is designed to use less power. Another option would be to get off your phone once in awhile...

Understand this. I game on phones a lot. So yes, I want those 4000 mah batteries. Secondly, smartphones with these oh-so efficient processors still use a lot of battery life. The gains seem minimal.

Agree with you. I travel a lot. The worst case for me is going to airport, arrive at other city, meeting, going back to my home city or back to hotel after long meeting. 5000mAH make me feel safe.

That's a lot of travelling for one man dude!!! You need the Oukitel10000 with that 10000mAh battery :)

Right now I'm using Galaxy C9 Pro with 4000mAH battery. I might upgrade to Nokia 7 plus or maybe Asus Zenfone Max Pro with 5000 mAH battery. Actually, its not a lot of travel. Sometimes my job require me to visit small city. If I only need to be there for about a couple of hours, I might be going back on the same days..... The thing is.... Sometimes I need to wait a long time in airport, or need to transit..... So, a 2 hours flight to go to other city, and a 2 hours flight to go back can be a full day adventure.

To each his own. 3000 mAH might be enough for you. But I prefer 5000mAH and feel safe when I finally arrive at home and still have enough power.

I didn't realize the letter X was only allocated for a certain category of phones.

Not true. Based on every manufacturer it appears you are ONLY allowed to name a phone "X", save for a few exceptions.

So no 3,500mAh battery...? I hope the endurance on this thing is decent since I was looking forward to it.

Notch on top and chin at bottom, keep going like this Nokia...you’ll be out of business again in next 5 - 10 years.

This is a mid range device and is not gonna compete against iPhone X.

This will be definitely over priced thus will be forgotten pretty soon.

3000 mAh only ? So simply a run-of-the-mill phone with nothing interesting to look at. Pass...

Too tall. Why can't they make a notched phone shorter than 145mm ?

They do. It's called Essential PH-1.

I wanted to get one, but after I read about all the hardware issues(bad WiFi, Bluetooth, network reception, low screen brightness) it has I decided to skip. There is also sharp s2, but it's ugly. Also the cameras are so-so and there is no way to use Google camera without root. And iPhone X, but I don't like iOS and the notch is too big.

This is a mid range device and is not gonna compete against iPhone X. No one's forcing you to get it.

I think I'm gonna get this phone. Phones with Qualcomm 845 processor are way too expensive for me right now. It's either this or the Vivo Apex if it gets released this year.
