Not very impressed with the UI (somewhat similar to Samsung camera UI), but manual exposing time is something I have waited for so long on a modern smartphone.

Big fail. Nothing new except 41 megapixels camera and some doubtful app. No better screen. Same Soc. Same OS. Same Apps. Deceived.

I bet you'd be singing a different tune if this new camera sensor and "doubtful" camera app were coming to your OS of choice.

The OS of choice you think about (because it's not mine), doesn't use 2011 hardware just 6 months before 2014.

I too am not a fan of the OS, but the hardware and the camera in the 1020 is groundbreaking!

sigh another argument regarding socs HW specs etc. this is WP8 NOT ANDROID. they dont effin need higher and higher specs to maintain the OS capabilities. so what if its last year specs? if they are comparable/tie with quadcore androids. this is based on facts, news, reports in tech sites.

That's why Windows 8 need a beastly Intel i7 to run smoothly. Why does your desktop/laptop run such high spec configuration? By your logic Windows needs server grade hardware to run smooth. I will tell you something - that camera (sensor & lens) that Nokia is talking about is also part of hardware specs. It doesn't suddenly take great picture if it didn't have the hardware specs. Hardware specs is an important parameter. If you can't see that, please remove that camera sensor from the phone because that also part of hardware specs. Looks at what specs does: http://gfxbench.com/result.jsp?benchmark=gfx27&test=478&base=device&os-check-Android=1&os-check-iPhone_OS=1&os-check-Windows_8=0&os-check-Windows_Phone=1&os-check-Windows_RT=0&arch-check-ARM=1&arch-check-MIPS=1&arch-check-x86=1

Windows 8 even runs smoothly on ARM like the new 8" Acer tablet.

The device looks fantastic but 300.00 may be a bit steep for buyers and only being on AT&T is not doing Nokia and Justice in the US.

just like apple? but here you have engineering marvels (3 of it) inside the lumia 1020 body 41mp is not a joke. it has OIS as 920 has also stereo recording. they slapped all that in one phone. it has a ZEISS lens too (6 lenses.first for a phone in the world) i say it costs more than that. and you say 300 is expensive?

Not 6 "lenses" Technically it's a 6 elements lens. You may also call it 6-lens optics.

Ok the first video above is just PLAIN STUPID. What the hell kind of a phone ad is that anyway. The guy could be holding a lemon poptart in his hands. WTF! And the second video is, well, another piece of total crap. Is Nokia selling a phone or some faded sepia ambience. And then you wonder why most people don't even WTF Nokia is anyway! Give people some REAL specs! 41 MP are you kidding? Pro-SLRS don't have or need that! Oh yeah, Nokia has NO clue that the SIZE of a camera sensor and NO mega pixels is what REALLY COUNTS. Keep trying Nokia, but everyone knows you and your crappy phones are ancient history.
