Watch today's Nokia 7.1/7.1 Plus announcement livestream right here

In just a few hours’ time, HMD Global will take to the stage in London to announce, what is presumed to be, a whole range of new products.

As is often the case with these events, the company will be live streaming the whole event through the YouTube feed above. Presently, the event is scheduled to take place at 5:00 pm GMT (1:00 pm ET/10:00 am PT/6:00 pm CET)

Naturally, the main focus of the event will be the next Nokia-branded smartphones. The first of these is set to be the cheaper Nokia 7.1 which will combine and all-glass build with a notched display up front. In addition to this, the larger Nokia 7.1 Plus is also expected to make its first official appearance. Interestingly, recent information revealed that a mysterious third device that is set to ditch the notch and make use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 could also be announced, although an unveiling at next week’s October 11 event now seems more likely.

Alongside the phones, HMD Global is also set to announce a variety of accessories. These will include the new “Nokia True Wireless Earbuds V1” which are set to retail for €108 in Europe and should include Google Assistant integration. Similarly, a wired alternative dubbed the “Nokia Active Wired Earphones V2” is reportedly on the way too and will retail for just €30. Unsurprisingly, a number of cases designed for the new smartphones are also expected.

Unless it's going to get a US release, then I see no reason to get excited about it.

Probably because of security reasons. That's one of the important reasons for Android One.

Because security, security and security. If you're looking for a Nokia smartphone that you can unlock the bootloader for, go for the Nokia 8.

Your response was redundant and completely unnecessary.

I actually miss the countdown timers to device announcements that used to be on PA. Could you bring them back please. :)

Excited for this whether it has a U.S. release or not, as I'm sure plenty of Nokia fans and users are around the world. I'll be at work, so won't be able to watch it as it happens, but I'll catch the highlights and replay.

There is more to this world than the U.S., btw.

Still doesn't change the fact that the US is part of the world.

Only release I will ever get excited about from them is the global release of a TRUE flagship device with proper specs

There are people that do not want not need a flagship spec'd smartphone, especially with the prices flagships go for these days.

I do think that they should provide a flagship device. Some people don't seem to understand that as you can plainly see.

As you don't seem to understand that there are more midrange and low-end smartphones in use than flagship ones, and HMD caters to the market primarily because that's where their bread and butter is. But it's clear that you don't understand business 101.

More yawn! Every release of Android is become more boring...the only thing that excites me is the Huawei, Samsung, and Google. Everything else is just a waste of time as I see companies like this trying to "make a buck".

All companies are trying to "make a buck". Some are just better at it than others. Btw, with the way you bash Android and happily accept anything from Apple, even when they screw up, no one takes what you say about Android OEM's seriously.

More like it's an open forum and I have a right to agree or disagree with anyone here as I see fit, as does anyone else. Get over it, already. You only have a problem with what I'm saying because it's me that's saying it.

Translation, "Venom is right about me, but I won't admit it because of my fragile ego. I'm just going to pout and throw a temper tantrum instead." I only have a problem with you giving people trouble just because they have an opinion you disagree with. I'll call it out as I see fit, so you get over it.

Translation: "I'm only disagreeing with Mesnestgenius because it's he's putting a fellow troll in his place. I'm also to ashamed to admit that I'm still seething with anger and utterly embarrassed that I'm on my 10th account because of him, so my simpleton like mind is demanding that I avenge myself at all costs, even at the expense of looking a complete fool on his 10th account here." FIFY. I only have a problem with trolls, as I've always stated, which is why I have a problem with you, mxyzptlk. You can't troll an article with BS nonsense and hate like you do and then get mad and play the victim when someone says something about it or gives you a taste of your own medicine in an open forum on the Internet. If you can't take it are going to cry about it every time, log off and leave the Internet for good. Trolls like you give trouble to others and then cry and play the victim when that trouble you brought is thrown back at you. I call it like it is, and I'll call out any troll like you as I see fit, so get over it or get off the Internet.

Translation: "Venom has once again put me in my place with the truth and cold, hard facts. My only response is the usual bs rhetoric and conjecture because I have no concrete response to what he said. He makes me question the genius part of my name. I should have just stayed a geek." No, you have a problem with anything that goes against your false narrative or your usual tripe. It's not because someone's a troll. It's because you just can't stand not having your way all the time. Btw, calling someone a troll just because you disagree with them just makes you look childish and immature. If you can't take the fire, then stop lighting the sparks and whining when you get roasted.

In other word: “Meanestgenius continues to destroy me in the comments section with the facts, that are indisputable. My only tactic now is to attempt to justify my trolling by pretending to own certain smartphones and hop on the Nokia brand bandwagon, even though my only intention is to troll them in an effort to get back at him for making me be on my 10th account. I’m aware that everyone knows that I’m mxyzptlk, but a good liar never admits the truth, and I’m one of the best liars in the world. I really should have remained an imp, as all I do is troll with conjecture and BS like the comics character does, knowing full well that my venom is about as lethal as a spritz of water.” FIFY No, it’s YOU that has a problem with anything that goes against your false narrative, and you have a problem with anyone posting facts that contradict your stories. You have a problem with me calling you and others out for trolling, and it leaves you seething with anger when I wind up running you off of articles for your trolling. Btw, saying that someone isn’t a troll, even though they are and are trolling incessantly, doesn’t mean that they aren’t one because you say so. If you can’t deal with someone calling you out for the BS that you do like post willfully ignorant comments, then log off immediately. Otherwise, prepare to continue to get owned.
