Mystery LG handset gets benchmarked; this could be the LG G4s

This could be the LG G4s getting benchmarked on the GFXBench site

A phone with the model number of LG H959 visited the GFXBench site with a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 in tow. Could this be the LG G4? Earlier today, we passed along the word that LG is joining Sony by not unveiling its next flagship model at MWC 2015 in March. Instead, we should see both manufacturer's handsets unveiled some time in the second quarter.

The GFXBench site shows that the LG H959 will have a 5.5-inch screen. So far, so good. But with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, this is certainly not the LG G4. After all, the LG G3 features a 1440 x 2560 resolution display, so why go backwards? Furthermore, this model will be equipped with just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The camera on back weighs in at 12MP while the snapper up front is 2MP. Android 5.0.1 is pre-installed. Does that sound like a 2015 flagship phone? Not at all.

Perhaps this will prove to be a "mini" version of the LG G4. Last year, LG released the LG G3s which was a smaller and lower spec'd version of its flagship model. Another possibility is the LG G Flex 2, although that model features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage.

Thanks for the tip!

#fail It's the G Flex 2. GFXBench sometimes makes a mistake with the camera resolution. http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-H950-Platinum-Silver-g-flex2/technical-specifications

Not really. If you read the article or even glanced at the photo, you would see it has a 12mp camera, not 13mp like the Flex 2. #fail

Hey noob, like I said GFXbench makes mistakes. Just look at the information from the LG G3 benchmark (13-megapixel reported as 12-megapixel). http://gfxbench.com/device.jsp?benchmark=gfx30&os=Android&api=gl&D=LG+G3+%28Adreno+420%2C+F460%29&testgroup=info #owned

I guess time will tell. I mean, if it were the G4s then why would it have the same processor?

And did you guys actually think that LG will go with a lower resolution than 2560 x 1440 pixels.

While I changed the story to add the LG G Flex 2 as a possibilty, the latter has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. And the model number is a bit off as the AT&T version is LG H950. Still, it is too close to ignore. Thanks! Alan F.

Doesn't it also have the 2gb RAM, 16gb ROM option too?

I guess, 1.8GB out of 3GB is unused. Since the Storage shows 9GB instead of 16GB.

After looking through it again, your right. It's the 2gb RAM, 16gb ROM version of the Flex 2.

http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-H950-Platinum-Silver-g-flex2/technical-specifications Interesting description of processor used on Flex2.. (Octa-Core 64-bit 810 ProcessorDelivers an Unparalleled Performance *2) Foot note *2 (2 When compared to 800 and 801 series processors.)

In 2015 it's indefensable to launch a mid to high end phone or tablet with less than 32gb of storage.

That is definitely a G Flex 2 variant. H955 is the international on, so this is a carrier one in the US.

I would have to say that this is more likely the LG G Flex 2, and probably a US variant at that.

"Mystery LG handset gets benchmarked; this could be the LG G4s." "... this is certainly not the LG G4." -Alan F. (PA) Huh? What? First, you say it could be. Then you say it can't be? Another poorly written article by Alan F.
