Motorola QUENCH priced at $49.99 on-contract for Rogers
It was becoming all too clear that the Motorola QUENCH was headed to Rogers as we saw it most recently in a leaked internal sales lineup sheet a few days ago. Although US consumers are getting situated with the Motorola CLIQ XT, Rogers customers should also be getting comfy now that the Motorola QUENCH is available for purchase at $49.99 with a 3-year contract. The price point should be attractive enough considering that it's running the beloved MOTOBLUR interface on top of Android 1.5, but luckily it's speculated in being up-to-date with Android 2.1 shortly. It features a 3.1” HVGA touchscreen, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, 3.5mm headset jack, 5-megapixel auto-focus camera, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, and microSD card support. Sure the pricing looks extremely affordable, but some may look elsewhere when you look at the 3-year agreement that'll be hanging over your head. Unfortunately, its 2-year contract price is at $324.99 and 1-year at $374.99. Although its full outright cost of $424.99 may drain your pockets in the short-term, it may prove more cost effective in the long run – especially if you decide to go with some other handset down the road. Whichever way you decide to go, it's now readily available for purchase.
