In hours, Meizu will unveil the new high-end Meizu Pro 5 handset during its Go Pro media event. This is reportedly the biggest, most elaborate unveiling in company history. At the same time that the new handset will be revealed to the public, Meizu will be changing its logo after 12 years. The company has produced a video to announce the logo change, which is embedded below. The media event will be held Wednesday at 2pm in the afternoon in China, which is 2am Wednesday morning in New York, and 11pm Tuesday in Los Angeles.

The Meizu Pro 5 is expected to be equipped with a 5.7-inch screen, carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The Exynos 7420 is under the hood, featuring an octa-core 2.1GHz CPU and the Mali-T760 MP8 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside, along with 64GB of internal storage. A 21MP camera graces the back of the unit, while a 5MP front-facing snapper adorns the front. Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed with Flyme 5.0 running on top.

We are just hours away from the unveiling of Meizu's new line, coinciding with the introduction of a revamped logo. This is a new chapter in the manufacturer's life, and we will have all the details for you as soon as they become available.
