Lenovo Miix 8 smiles for the camera: an 8
Acer's Iconia W3 was the first 8" Windows 8 tablet announced, but it won't stay single for long. A Lenovo 8-incher has was demonstrated at Microsoft's events during Computex, with the first pictures showing a two-tone body, going by the name Miix 8. "The tablet is slim and light, has a gorgeous screen, will have 3G connectivity, and many accessories such as a folio and pen.

We also saw a 7-incher demonstrated, but it was just a proof of concept, rather than something that will make it on the shelves. Also, it seems that Lenovo might be using the Miix branding for its family of Windows 8 gear, like Samsung uses ATIV now. Microsoft already threw us a bone, announcing that each of this small Win 8 slates will ship with a free copy of Word, Excel, Power Point and One Note, so we can't wait for the most important announcement - the price of these new Windows tablets.

I am glad Microsoft was faster than Apple to embrace putting their OS smaller tablets. it seems Microsoft is going to bundle Office home and student on them to make them a good buy to the public. if I were a college student I would want one to do work with if the price is right and the tech in them is good. I still believe in Windows rt as a very good OS for an 8 inch 16 by 9 screen E-book reader because folks you do not need a full windows OS on an E-book reader plus you would have some Apps, games and Microsoft office with outlook mail client. this would be the best e-book reader of all time
