Leaked Virgin Mobile memo: (PRODUCT)RED Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be introduced tomorrow

Last year's PRODUCT Red Apple iPhone 7 Plus

A memo to Virgin Mobile employees that was obtained by MacRumors, states that the pre-paid carrier will be adding (PRODUCT)Red versions of the Apple iPhone 8 and Apple iPhone 8 Plus to its inventory starting tomorrow, April 9th. The memo adds that there will be a pre-order period, so its likely that the new models won't start shipping until later in the month. And Apple isn't expected to hold a new product event, but will announce the (PRODUCT)Red iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus through a press release. That is how Apple introduced the (PRODUCT)Red versions of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus in March 2017.

There has been speculation that Apple will soon add new color options for the 2017 iPhone models, but the memo doesn't mention anything about a (PRODUCT)Red version of the Apple iPhone X. As far as the tenth-anniversary iPhone model is concerned, a gold hued variant has been rumored and could be part of Monday's press release. In addition, we also could see Apple introduce its long-awaited AirPower wireless charger tomorrow.

Every purchase made of a (PRODUCT)Red Apple product, including certain accessories, results in a contribution to the global fund to fight AIDS. It's certainly a worthy cause, and we would expect the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus to look positively radiant in a vibrant red color.

Nokia is dead, Microsoft killed it, that’s why I hate Microsoft, now the “new Nokia” is an android clone maker that lost the essence of the real Nokia, nevertheless I hope this new Nokia surpasses Samsung cause I can’t stand Samsung trolls, that would definitely destroy them

Kid you really need to get your facts straight! Nokia never died, they are alive and kicking since 1865 and they still have 102.000 employees! In case you are referring to Nokia Mobile division indeed MS did a terrible job. The new Nokia is HMD and sure no Android clone maker! HMD employees are ex Nokia and Microsoft and they are based in Finland, so no Chinese copy cat company! Plus they use stock Android, so no crappy bloatware and ads! And they are fast with updates, not like other Android phones makers who updates their phones ones or twice and gives costumers the middle finger!

Nokia mobile división is dead, and you can’t say that the devices HMD is releasing now are as innovative as the ones released by the real Nokia in the past, these new phones are android clones just with Nokia brand, nevertheless I wish this new Nokia to succeed and drag Samsung to the bottom of the charts forever cause I can’t stand Samsung trolls

Funny, something I'm noticing recently is that all my Android loving friends are gradually starting to buy iPhones, one of the most fanatical has even now bought an Apple Watch. I don't know why they're making the change but there must be some reason...

Dont be fooled. They will fill up they pockets overcharging you for the red and probably max $1 will go for the actual cause. I cant recall apple dislosing how much they gave away for each 7 red. They don't give a f**k about charity and a good cause.

You can't recall? Or you don't even know? Unless you can give reliable sources then these are all speculations: So much hating for a company who are doing their best to fund research and cure for HIV. If you don't have any good to say keep your conspiracy theory to yourself.

"“Apple is the world’s largest corporate donor to the Global Fund, contributing more than $130 million as part of its partnership with (RED),” Deborah Dugan, (RED)’s CEO, was quoted as saying in Apple’s press release."

"company has “raised $130 million” across the entirety of its ten-year partnership with (RED). Though the number may seem high, it works out at 0.01% of the company’s estimated $1.25 trillion net revenue over the same period, which netted the company $274 billion profit."

RED is only one area. There's also education: schools get low prices for Apple's products - they even get older devices for free - there are education software which are also free to get (you do realize that they cost Apple a lot of money to make, support, provide); everything it does is energy friendly (every facility in the world uses renewable energy; all the materials are recyclable etc); Apple recycles 40 mil kg of junk (other people's junk) in only one year; by 2020 it wants to protect over 400k hectares of forest; it donated in a single year $4 mil to nature catastrophic effects (hurricane and wildfire); Cook auctions charity lunches regularly etc.

RED is nothing more than milking proceder wrapped in the nice story. Contemplate on mere 0.01% to get a big picture. Also take into account that coorporations do charity in order to get some tax reliefs. They are not charity, charity and milk cow is you.

Dude, 0.01% out of $250 billion (with a B) are $25 millions (with an M) every year. That's a s**tload of money given to HIV.

10 years. Let alone how much apple earns on a single red model and how much it gives away. 0.01%. You pay extra $100 and apple gives exactly 1 cent for the cause. It is f**king scam dude. If you want to contribute to the charity you better off giving $10 instead of buying red. That will make a lot more sense on all levels.

One pays for a RED device exactly the same amount that one would have paid for any other color. Neither Apple, nor Samsung or my company have the obligation to give to charity; we do it, because WE WANT TO - some of us do more, some do less, but every penny is equally important.

Last years Red was $100 more expensive than a regular model. DO YOU REMEMBER?

RED models have always had the EXACT SAME PRICE as the equivalent model. The difference was in storage capacity: RED only came in 128 GB, so it was indeed $100 more than 32 GB "regular" model but it also had the same price as 128 GB version of the same "regular" model.
