LG releases 60-second video for its new Watch Urbane

LG releases 60-second video for its new Watch Urbane
LG announced last week that it would be unveiling a new smartwatch at MWC 2015 in Barcelona. Named the LG Watch Urbane, the Android Wear powered timepiece is the manufacturer's luxury timepiece with an all metal build, and a thinner design. Available in a gold or silver finish, the device offers the same 1.3-inch P-OLED display as the one on the LG Watch R. That means it will feature a resolution of 320 x 320 for a 245ppi pixel density.

The manufacturer has released a 60-second video showing off the Watch Urbane. LG says that with its new smartwatch, contemporary and classic unite. We also get a chance to see how some of the different watch faces look on the wearable in both gold and silver designs. Additionally, the video displays several of the strap options available for the watch.

Online retailer Expansys has started taking pre-orders for the LG Watch Urbane, although the $410.50 price is strictly a guess. We will know more about pricing and availability when LG officially unveils the Watch Urbane next week. Until then, you can check out the official video to get your fill of the device.

I have to give credit where credit is due. This is a really nice looking watch. I myself like the silver looking watch better. I guess that's why I got the Moto 360 silver version (stainless steel). We know the starting price is a guess, but if its anything close to that $410, then its too much for a smart watch (IMHO). Although this smart watch is stainless steel as well.

I agree with your points. I am waiting for the second generation of smart watches as i'm not too interested at the moment. This design does rival the 360. Especially without that black bar at the bottom. $410 is steep but let's see what the actual price will be. How do you like your 360? Pro's and cons.

Well I love the wireless charging. I was expecting it to charge really slowly being wireless, but in a about an hour its fully charged. It has a lot of storage for music which it can play directly to my Bluetooth headset, without the need to carry my smart watch. I just noticed with the latest lollipop they added a new double tap feature on the button. It toggles theater mode on/off. Android wear keeps on getting better all the time.

I should have added that the Moto 360 does not last as long as my Sony Smartwatch 3. I can get 3-4 days from the SW3. I can get 1-2 days from the 360. But for most people this is not a problem. Because most people charge their phones every night.

Why wait for second gen. What is second gen for you? What would make you buy a smart watch?

The advert just shows the watch telling the time. What about the smart features of the watch, such as showing notifications, getting directions, making or responding to calls, etc? Without these, it's just a watch. And it's not necessary to spend much money to get a plain watch. Looks stylish but where's the substance?

You have to wait until MWC when they unveil it.

You don't need to see what LG has to offer when it comes to smartwatch functionality. Just read the Android Wear website. When it comes to function, all the AW watches offer the same thing

Some have different sensors or different features, but overall the Android Wear OS is the same for all. If this Urbane smart watch has the same specs as the LG G Watch R, then it will have really great specs, plus excellent battery life. Also it will have the highest PPI for any smart watch, and it will be the second POLED display used on a smart watch.

Not a fan of LG's devices but lately their commercials have been something else! Job well done.

To me it seems that LG's just reinventing the wheel with those designs. No innovation...
