A
leaked internal Sprint screenshot surfaced yesterday indicated that the LG Viper would be available on April 22nd. Today, Sprint has made the official announcement that pre-orders for the LG Viper 4G LTE will begin today and the device will, in fact, officially launch on
April 22, 2012.
The LG Viper will be $149.99 less a $50 mail-in rebate making the anticipated handset just
$99 with a 2-year commitment for both new and existing customers. Sprint is also saying that customers who
pre-order will begin receiving their devices as early as Friday, April 20th, giving them as much as 2 days of exclusivity before the LG Viper goes on sale in stores.
The
eco-friendly LG Viper features ULE Platinum Certification, a casing comprised of 50% recycled plastics, and a 100% recyclable packaging. Specs wise, this Android Gingerbread device features a
4-inch 800x480 WVGA display,
1.2GHz dual-core processor,
1GB of RAM, 4GB ROM, 4GB microSD card, Gorilla Glass, a 5MP rear-facing camera, and
4G LTE capabilities.
