KitKat update to hit the HTC One max in March, HTC One mini in April?
HTC is halfway through completing the Android 4.4 + Sense 5.5 update for the HTC One running on the top four carriers in the U.S. As of now, the HTC One for Verizon and Sprint have both received the latest update, leaving the versions of the handset for T-Mobile and AT&T to be updated. But what about the HTC One max and HTC One mini? The HTC USA Product Team wrote on Reddit that the Android 4.4 + Sense 5.5 update should reach the HTC One max by March . The same update should reach the HTC One mini by April.

The USA Product Team for HTC also hinted that it was working on a way for HTC device owners to directly load an update onto a device, without having to wait for a carrier to individually test and approve each one. HTC said that it has had ideas like this "under consideration," and is always looking for ways to streamline the updating process.

Better strategy would be releasing the "mini" and the "normal' at the same time, and use ONE ad campaign over two, you're not going to buy the 5" in February and the 4.3" in March anyway, so why release separately? This is just more sensible: "Here is our top-end product, great built, spectacular HW, blazing fast SW, excellent user experience, superb photos, outstanding stereo and long battery life... ... and you can buy it in 2 sizes." Works for TVs, why not have it for phones too?
