Jimmy Fallon thanks Microsoft for Cortana; Siri says "it's on bitch"
Jimmy Fallon has breathed new life into the Tonight Show since replacing Jay Leno and moving the entire production back to the Big Apple. On Friday, Fallon was telling the audience that at the end of the week he catches up on some personal stuff, checking the in-box and writing Thank You notes. So the host grabs a pile of cards and starts writing the first one, and it is to Microsoft. "Thank you, Microsoft Windows Phone, for releasing your own voice assistant named Cortana. Whereas Siri put it when she heard the news, ‘Oh, it’s on, bitch!’"
Kudos to Fallon and his staff for keeping up with the news. While Microsoft has not officially announced that there will be a voice activated virtual assistant on Windows Phone 8.1, there have been enough leaks including a recent video that showed it in action. Will the Redmond based software giant decide to call it Cortana? That is also unknown although the Las Vegas bookmakers would probably bet on it.
