Image of third-generation Motorola Moto X surfaces (UPDATE)

A wood backed version of the third-generation Motorola Moto X has allegedly leaked. The image of the phone is said to have been disguised in order to prevent the source from getting into trouble. Before we start talking about the specs, we suggest that you head over to the spice rack and take this all with a grain of salt.

According to this new leak, the third-generation Motorola Moto X will come with a 5.64-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. An unknown Snapdragon chipset is under the hood with 3GB of RAM inside and 21GB of native storage available to the user. While not confirmed, a Type C USB port could be on board. Stereo speakers grace the handset. The phone will be offered in Plastic, Wood, Leather and an unnamed new material. Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed

It's not too surprising that images and specs relating to the third-gen Moto X have started circulating. After all, we recently saw the third-generation Motorola Moto G accidentally listed on Flipkart, and a phone that could be the third-generation Motorola Moto E recently received Bluetooth Certification.

Motorola is apparently working on its next-gen Moto models and we could see some more leaks popping up soon.

UPDATE: We have some new information to share related to this leak Apparently, there will be two versions of the third-generation Moto X. One variant with a 5.7-inch QHD screen will be a Verizon exclusive. The other model will feature a 5.2-inch QHD panel.
