Huawei starts pushing Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Honor 9 and Honor V9

Shortly after Huawei kicked off the roll-out of Android Oreo update for the Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 9, the Chinese company confirmed two other smartphones are getting the update starting today – Honor 9 and Honor V9.

Huawei announced the first to receive the update are Honor 9 and Honor V9 users who took part in the beta program. Starting December 7, Android 8.0 Oreo will be rolled out to everyone who owns one of these two smartphones.

For the time being the update is available in China only, but a worldwide push out is expected by the end of the month. Keep in mind that if you have the Honor 8 Pro, you'll be getting the update as well since this is the global version of the Honor V9.

There's one more thing worth mentioning – if you don't like how your phone performs after updating to Android 8.0 Oreo, you can roll back to Android Nougat, but you will lose all your data stored on the phone, so keep that in mind.
