Is this the first film shot on the Huawei P30 Pro?
While there is no way to say which phone was used in making the extremely impressive cinematic video right above, the footage itself strongly suggests that the phone used for it was the upcoming new Huawei P30 Pro and it definitely ups the ante for smartphone cameras.
It's not just the rich colors and surprising lack of noise in the night-time segment of the video, but also those incredible zoomed in shots that you simply cannot get on any other smartphone camera.
A quick reminder: Huawei executives revealed that the Huawei P30 Pro will redefine smartphone cameras in two important ways, first with improvements to low-light photo and video quality, and secondly, with an innovative new zoom system.
Crazy long zoom and truly impressive low-light performance
Just today, practically the entire spec sheet for the new Huawei P30 Pro leaked out revealing four cameras on the back: a new, 40-megapixel "SuperSpectrum" main camera that is said to use a new type of RYYB (red-yellow-yellow-blue) Bayer filter for better visibility in low-light, a secondary periscope camera that will be able to zoom to the equivalent of 125mm of focal length and will feature the much needed optical stabilization for such a sensor, and then an ultra-wide, 16mm third shooter and a fourth, time-of-flight depth camera. Not least, the phone is listed as having an impressive 32-megapixel front camera.

As you can see, this shapes up to be quite the powerful specs sheet and Huawei is also rumored to adorn it with a $1,000 price (1,000 euro in Europe), on par with the prices for the latest Apple iPhone XS Max and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.
But the cameras alone have the potential to redefine the smartphone shooting experience and we cannot wait to see Huawei officially unveil the P30 Pro on March 26th.
