Huawei MediaPad M5 with Android 8.0 Oreo leaked out ahead of official announcement

Huawei's tablets have already made their way to the United States market, so if you want to buy one you can visit Amazon and you won't even have to spend a fortune. The MediaPad series tablets are among the cheapest Android slates in the US, but they're usually high value for money.

A new MediaPad M5 tablet has just been leaked ahead of the official announcement, and from what we can tell, this is likely to be a high-end slate. According to a new report, Huawei will skip its tablet series directly to MediaPad M5, so there won't be any M4 tablets.

So, just like some of the previous MediaPad tablets that are based on a Kirin chipset, the MediaPad M5 is expected to pack a similar 2.4GHz octa-core Kirin 960 processor. We also know the tablet sports an 8.4-inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution.

Huawei MediaPad M5 will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo on board, which should make it even more appealing. Moreover, the tablet is likely to feature a fingerprint sensor and LTE Cat 4 support. Huawei may unveil the new MediaPad M5 in early January at CES (Consumers Electronics Show) 2018, but we don't have a confirmation yet.
