HMD confirms the camera app on Nokia smartphones will be updated

You might remember that HMD got its hands on the Lumia Camera UI design patent some months ago. At that time we hoped the Finnish company will bring it to some or all Nokia smartphones, and it looks like we weren't wrong.

HMD's Global Chief Product Manager Juho Sarvikas confirmed that his company plans to update the Camera app on all its Nokia smartphones in the near future. He also hinted that the update will include many of the features (if not all) that made the Lumia Camera UI so reliable.

Well, considering the current Camera app on HMD's Nokia smartphones is nearly a mess, this is great news indeed. Unfortunately, there's no telling whether the new Camera app will be delivered along with Android 8.0 Oreo or as a separate update.

So, there you have it, folk. If you own one of HMD's Nokia smartphones, expect some major improvements to the Camera app in the not so distant future. Also, Android 8.0 Oreo, of course.
