Galaxy S10 Infinity-O display rumor gains credence thanks to rock-solid leaker

Like this, but with a little O-shaped hole somewhere at the top

If you’re done drooling over our dreamy new Galaxy S10 concept renders, we’re afraid you might want to take your enthusiasm down a notch (pun intended), as yet another reputable leaker thinks Samsung’s “next big thing” will adopt a so-called Infinity-O display to essentially eliminate bezels.

This is not just any semi-credible rumormonger, mind you, but none other than Evan Blass, whom you may know by his @evleaks Twitter alias. Blass is almost never wrong about this stuff, although the details he revealed on social media earlier today are billed as “preliminary.”

That said, it’s probably way too late for Samsung to change its entire approach to the Galaxy S10 design, not to mention it could be a little early to realistically expect a “New Infinity” display smartphone with virtually no bezels and a screen-embedded selfie shooter.

Instead, the front-facing camera will likely be housed by a “punch hole” style cutout that you won’t be able to hide in the notification bar. We’re talking a circular hole drilled into one side of the otherwise mouth-watering screen, resembling the letter O. Hence the Infinity-O branding, compared to the Infinity-U and Infinity-V notch implementations Samsung is prepping for other soon-to-be-released devices.

Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S10 is now also pretty much guaranteed to come with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor (most likely manufactured by Qualcomm), Android Pie-based One UI software, and three rear-facing cameras combining standard, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses for a truly top-notch and versatile imaging experience.

Evan Blass cannot confirm any of the other one thousand and one rumored Galaxy S10 features and tidbits yet, but we’re several months away from a formal announcement, and a little mystery never hurt anyone anyway.
