Flipboard update for iOS coming on September 21, in time for iPhone 5 launch

iPhone and iPad owners are probably well familiar with Flipboard – the popular app that delivers news in a neatly-organized, magazine-style format. Android users also got a taste of the experience soon after the Samsung Galaxy S III hit the market. To date, the application has been downloaded over 20 million times.

But now that the iPhone 5 has arrived, is Flipboard going to be updated in order to take advantage of that bigger, 4-inch screen, instead of running in a letterbox? You bet! Word comes from Flipboard CEO Mike McCue, who stated that a new version of the app will be released on September 21, which is exactly when the iPhone 5 will become available in retail stores. In addition, McCue didn't miss the chance to share his positive impressions about the iPhone 5 and to point out how beneficial the additional real estate will be to the look and feel of Flipboard.
