FCC greets Project Pink Turtle clamshell slider
Sharp has filed with the FCC for a CDMA slider phone with WLAN and BT. The label's cut fits perfectly with the back of the Turtle. The Turtle is a slider phone that was one of two Pink/Danger phones leaked last September. Of the two phones, the Pure and the Turtle, it is the latter, with its Pre-esque sliding mechanism-that has seemed to have made it through the FCC first. Sharp's contribution is important to note because it was the company that manufactured the Danger designed Sidekick model that ended up at T-Mobile once upon a time. According to the reports, the Turtle also is expected to be focused on the youth market like the Sidekick was, and will be offered this Spring by Verizon. With the filing, pictures of the inside and outside of the phone that accompanied the application are now sealed shut until March 29th. Danger, of course, was acquired by Microsoft two years ago.
