Discovery Communications releases Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet for Windows Phone
Windows Phone got a nice feather in its cap with not just one, but three official apps coming from the folks that produce some great TV content.

While a lot of the shows are produced and created by a myriad of different creative studios, Discovery Communications does a dandy job at putting it all together in several popular networks seen around the world.

The first app is The Discovery Channel, where you can watch thousands of clips from shows like The Deadliest Catch, Gold Rush and Myth Busters. Select full episodes are also available for viewing. It provides everything you need to follow your favorite shows.

Then comes TLC (The Learning Channel), offering the same spread of content that network is known for (yes, even including Honey Boo Boo). Highlights and full episodes are available to watch whenever you want. Also included is the full schedule of programming.

Finally, Animal Planet. Who doesn’t love Animal Planet? Home of all sorts of domestic and wildlife programms and cute kiddy videos too, Animal Planet is brings it right to your Windows Phone.

These new apps are available for Windows Phone 8, each is about 5MB in size and may not be available in all regions (unfortunately). The apps will also work with your lock-screen if you want, showing what is playing and what is coming up in the program schedule.  All three apps are available now in the Windows Phone Store.
