Amazon is offering the Kindle Fire HD 7 today at $60 off the usual retail price. The 8GB version is now available for $79.99, down from the tablet's usual price of $139.99, while the 16GB version of the Kindle Fire HD 7 is now priced at $99.99, down from $159.99. If you're looking for a simple, small, but effective tablet, then this deal could be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Launched back in October 2014 alongside the smaller but very similar Kindle Fire 6 HD, the Kindle Fire 7 HD comes with decent hardware specs such as a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels at an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a PPI of 216, two CPU cores clocked at 1.5GHz and two additional CPU cores clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, and either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. The Kindle Fire HD 7 isn't the fastest or the crispest tablet currently on the market, although it's well suited for basic tasks such as web browsing and video playback. As all Fire tablets, the HD 7 runs Amazon's own FireOS, a forked version of Android that's currently at the fourth iteration.
At $79 for the 8GB version, the Fire HD 7 offers a great price/performance ratio. If you share this point of view, make sure to act quickly as the deal is only available today, April 20th.
