Check out the latest Pixel XL (Nexus Marlin) renders featuring the Google logo on back
The latest renders of the HTC built Pixel XL (aka the Nexus Marlin) show the device wearing a clear TPC case. The phone is expected to be made official on October 4th along with the smaller screened Pixel (or Nexus Sailfish). The Pixel XL is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution screen. The Snapdragon 820 chipset will be under the hood, with a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530  GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside and a 12MP camera will be found on the back of the phone.

We've seen a number of images showing off the Pixel XL and the Pixel. Both models feature a rear mounted fingerprint scanner under the camera, and a two tone design on the back of the handset. You might notice the Google "G" logo on the bottom of the back. So far, that is the only branding that we've seen on images of either phone to date.

The latest leaks indicate that the Pixel and Pixel XL will both launch with Android 7.1 pre-installed. You can check out the latest images of the Pixel XL by clicking on the slideshow below.

Terrible renders those, the flash size isn't consistent and the whats up with the case? Still, can't wait for the announcement, planning to switch to Pixel asap.

I doubt those renders are official. Seems fake. IMO

I hope these are fake. These things are literally grotesque.

They're probably fake but I'm getting the blue version of the phone.

I think the real contest this year , as far as performance is concerned., is ibetween iPhone 7 and Pixel XL. I really believed that Samsung would do a lot more with optimising RAM management on note 7. But it is really sad to see note 7 not able to compete with nexus 6P and iPhone 6s Plus. So how can we expect it to compete with iPhone 7 and pixel XL. https://youtu.be/FI_7eADxOK0https://youtu.be/1ha-JaFO3Eg As far as aesthetics is concerned , no doubt note 7 is an eye candy.

Note 7 is beautiful (From a hardware standpoint)... it's just a shame about the whole battery debacle.

I am not talking about the battery debacle. It is unexpected. But What is the use of 4GB RAM with such a great hardware when you cannot perform basic multitasking well. my be with their tizen os , Sammy will find some solution.

I agree with your whole statement, my comment was just in reference to your final line about aesthetics, and I included the battery reference because the brand reputation is now tainted by what's going on with the recall. You can still have people happy with the phone who're ignorant to the fact that they're not making use of all the RAM provided. Not to say that it isn't an issue, it's just nowhere as big of an issue.

I think Samsung rushed the Note 7 to get it out before the iPhone 7. A software update should fix most of the issues.

Good point! The Nexus 6P is actually faster than the iphone 6s Plus in a speed test I saw on Youtube.

I think pixel actually sounds cooler than nexus.

it's like changing the name of iPhone to applesauce.

Nexus made sense though when you look up the definition. Pixel sounds like a Disney phone.

Huge bezels along sides!A really dated looking device from front!

Dated in more than one way. Can we move past SD820 yet?

It's very likely to have an sd821

Are you seeing the same picture I am? Because that doesn't look better than anything this year except for maybe the LG G5.

Fugly, that lazy two-tone design makes the i6/6s anttenna lines look good. Having the same fugly bezels doesn't make things better...

Be careful having opinions about a terrible design upsets people.

It's the front that looks ugly. The back is fine though. It would seem like the oneplus 3 is the new Nexus. It has great custom ROM support and a good price

Yeah. The back is fine but the front is too bezelicious.

I'm personally really excited to see what this Pixel phone is all about. I already know that I won't be getting one. I simply cannot justify spending the money to get a new phone when my 6P isn't even a year old and still working great... Then again, maybe I can make monthly payments with Google Fi.

Just because you buy a case for a phone anyways doesn't mean the phone itself has to look like Betty White's ass.

Well if you're overly obsessed with image and what people will think of you when you take off a phone's case, then by all means, skip this and go for another phone.... Though I have to ask, do you routinely remove your TV from the wall and admire the way the back looks? Because for me (being practical and all), all that matters is performance and feature set.

No phone is immune to criticism, like decent ones that have had a slew of defects recently, or one that had picked up a stigma for removing a major external component...
