Cases for the Huawei P8 and P8 Lite reveal placements of speaker grills, USB ports and more
Just two days before the Huawei P8 and Huawei P8 Lite are expected to be unveiled, we have some further clues about what to expect design-wise on these two models. Case manufacturers are a great source of information when trying to find out details about an unannounced smartphone. Because they need a lead time for tooling, some case companies are able to get a heads-up from phone manufacturers. That makes the following look at cases for the Huawei P8 and P8 Lite interesting since they give away details on what to expect on Wednesday when the pair should see the light of day.

One black silicon case for the P8 has a cut out in the top corner of the back for the rear camera, which will weigh in at 13MP and includes OIS. Under the camera cut out is one for the fingerprint scanner which has been rumored to be on board. The bottom has three openings with two at either end for the speakers, and one in the middle for the USB port. There is some talk that the phone will work with the new USB C connector which allows you to insert the connector with either side on top.

On the top of the P8 case are two spaces. One is for the 3.5-inch earphone jack and the other could be for an IR sensor that would be used to control home appliances.

A lite silicon case for the Huawei P8 Lite still allows us to get a look at the rear of the phone. It resembles the back of the P8, but without the fingerprint scanner. The bottom of the P8 Lite seems to copy the P8 in terms of the placements of the speaker grills and USB port.

Huawei's new flagship model and its lower spec'd brother, will both be unveiled in London on April 15th.
