Apple releases its third iOS 10 beta in the last six days; iOS 10 beta 7 is here
Apple has released its third iOS 10 Beta in the last six days by rolling out iOS 10 Beta 7. The changelist for the seventh Beta of iOS 10 is basically the same as the changelist for the previous two versions of the update. One possibility as to why Apple has decided to gift us with numerous versions of the update might have to do with diagnostic tests that are being run to help Apple learn more about the battery issue that afflicts some units of the Apple iPhone 6s. The company announced the other day that before it sends out an update to fix the problem, it would release an update to help it gather more information about the issue.
Certain iPhone 6s models produced during a specific period are going from 30% battery life to 0% as quickly as the snap of a finger. Plugging the phone in returns the battery life to 30%. Besides moving toward a software update to fix this problem, owners of iPhone 6s units with certain serial numbers are being given a free battery replacement by Apple.
The iOS 10.2 update is expected to include the latest emoji from Unicode, additional effects for iMessage, and more. We could see iOS 10.2 launched as soon as next week. In the meantime, if you're a registered developer or have signed up with the public beta program, you can download and install iOS 10.2 beta 7 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
