Alcatel kids tablet for T-Mobile arrives with a rugged design, lots of content

Called the Joy Tab Kids, Alcatel’s latest device features an 8-inch HD display that’s protected by a layer of strong Asahi Glass which helps prevent any cracks or scratches when the tablet is dropped. Further enhancing the tablet’s durability is a colorful and sturdy silicone case that features a kickstand on the back which is great for viewing videos or playing games.
The Kidomi-backed tablet features a large 4,080mah battery that can provide up to 8.5 hours of continuous video streaming over Wi-Fi, although if a network isn’t available, you’ll also be able to connect to T-Mobile’s 4G LTE service. This is all backed by a quad-core MediaTek processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded by a further 32GB with a microSD card. Also part of the setup are 5-megapixel front and rear cameras.
The Alcatel Joy Tab Kids will be available at T-Mobile starting Friday, November 15. The tablet's price is yet to be confirmed.
