Alcatel kids tablet for T-Mobile arrives with a rugged design, lots of content
Alcatel is best known for its range of budget smartphones, but today the TCL-backed brand is switching things up by introducing a new tablet that’s geared towards children.

Called the Joy Tab Kids, Alcatel’s latest device features an 8-inch HD display that’s protected by a layer of strong Asahi Glass which helps prevent any cracks or scratches when the tablet is dropped. Further enhancing the tablet’s durability is a colorful and sturdy silicone case that features a kickstand on the back which is great for viewing videos or playing games.

The tablet ships with the award-winning Kidomi platform pre-installed on top of Android 9 Pie. It delivers curated content from famous brands like DreamWorks, Crayola, and Toca Boca to offer thousands of videos, books, and interactive games including Peppa Pig, Transformers, and My Little Pony titles. To ensure your kids are never bored, the platform is updated regularly with content that meets the U.S. Common Core Standards.

Alcatel’s newest device is also certified by the KidSafe Seal Program, which means it provides an ad-free experience that also protects each child’s privacy. The Joy Tab Kids boasts a range of parental controls that let you limit the content available to your children and the amount of time they’re allowed to use the tablet. Additionally, time limits can be applied to individual content types and a special activity feed will provide insights into the learning patterns of your child.

The Alcatel Joy Tab Kids will be available at T-Mobile starting Friday, November 15. The tablet's price is yet to be confirmed.
