Alcatel Idol 5 shows up on GFXBench?

Back in February, we told you about a phone called the Alcatel Idol 5S that was seen on Geekbench. A month later, the device appeared on GFXBench with a 5.2-inch display carrying a resolution of 1080 x 1920 (FHD). Under the hood is a Helio P20 MediaTek MT6757CH chipset containing an octa-core 2.3GHz CPU and the Mali-T880 GPU.

With that MediaTek SoC inside, the chances are that the Alcatel Idol 5S is not planning to be shipped to the U.S. Instead, we might see the device that appeared today on GFXBench arriving in the states. This model was listed as the Alcatel 6060 on the benchmark site, but tipster Roland Quandt says that this "should be" the Alcatel Idol 5. And with a Snapdragon 625 chipset running the show (more details below), this model could already have a ticket punched for travel to the U.S.

According to GFXBench, the Idol 5 will also feature a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 (FHD). 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage are inside, while the rear camera will weigh in at 12MP. The front-facing 8MP camera handles selfies and video chats. Android 7.1.1 is pre-installed.

The specs are pretty much identical to the Idol 5S, although the latter was tested with Android 7.0 installed. More importantly, the Idol 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC containing an octa-core 2GHz CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU.

The Alcatel Idol 5 is apparently the sequel to the Alcatel Idol 4. The latter model is sold by BlackBerry as the BlackBerry DTEK50.
