Alcatel Idol 4S with Windows coming to Europe in Q2 2017

The Idol 4S is possibly the last of the mohicans, one of the not so many Windows Phone handsets that are still available for purchase in the United States. T-Mobile picked the Idol 4S back in November, but it's now available unlocked for those who still want to try out a Windows Phone device.

However, it looks like Alcatel plans to bring the Idol 4S in Europe as well, although that won't happen until the second quarter of the year. Alcatel recently confirmed that France, Czech Republic and Slovakia will be among the first countries in Europe to get it.

The Windows 10 Mobile version of the Alcatel Idol 4S features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with full HD (1080p) resolution and comes bundled with VR Goggles in the sales box.

The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable memory (up to 256GB). It also packs a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), dual-LED flash and 4K video recording.

While there's no word on the price yet, it's worth noting the Alcatel Idol 4S with Android sells in many European countries for €385, so the Windows Phone model might cost around the same amount.

It also comes in 2 Android varriants as well. The regular Idol 4s has a Qualcomm SD652, and the more venerable Blackberry Dtek60 with the SD820. It's all about having a choice.

Really, why would that bother you? There already plenty of Android choices. WP does deserve more attraction to make it viable for further development. Which lead to more consumer choices and how can that be bad for you?

Microsoft pretends to listen to the needs of the user. I had a Lumia 950XL and as an insider, I was able to see all the feedback left from users. Its been almost a year and the brightness of the phone is still way too bright at the lowest setting causing it to be unusable at night. My phone died at 5% every time...why?  Done with Microsoft phones

A whole 10 people will buy it and 2 people will say they love it and the last 8 people will say they probably should've just got the Android version
