It was just a bit over a week ago when we
informed you that the Nokia Mural was heading to AT&T. The messaging device was supposed to attract the tweens with a personalized cover that had different color options that would light up when the handset was open, closed, getting a call, or if you had a notification on the device. With a $50 price tag, AT&T might have sold a ton of these to the texting crowd. But now, according to a tipster who informed BGR, the carrier has pulled the Mural from all sales channels and all shipments of the phone have stopped. It seems that a mistake at the factory has left the Mural unable to connect to AT&T's 3G network and instead, the handset will offer 2G connectivity. No one wants to pay for 3G and get 2G speed from AT&T (insert iPhone 3G joke here). The retail stores have been told to send the Mural back to the AT&T returns facility by September 25th in order to get a software update, which means that the prospects are good that we will see the Nokia Mural return to the carrier as fit as a fiddle and ready for some 3G action. The only thing up in the air is the return date when once again the device can ring the registers.
