AT&T Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) leaks out, could be launched in May

Released in January by Virgin and Boost Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is also headed to AT&T - just as previously rumored. Thanks to Evan Blass (better known as @evleaks), we can now take a look at the AT&T-bound Galaxy J3, which looks just like the handset that's sold by Boost and Virgin.

Far from being a high-end device, the Galaxy J3 still offers pretty decent features for a budget smartphone - including LTE connectivity, a 5-inch 720p AMOLED display, 1.5 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of expandable internal memory. The handset is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, further coming with a 5 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front-facing camera, and a 2600 mAh battery.

The date that's visible on the new smartphone's home screen - see below - suggests that AT&T could start selling it in early May. Sadly, at the moment, the Galaxy J3 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, but we seriously hope that Samsung will update it to Android Marshmallow before launching it on AT&T.

Both Boost and Virgin Mobile are currently offering the Galaxy J3 for $179.99 off contract, and we assume that the handset's price at AT&T won't be too different. Interested?
