128GB Google Pixel XL shipments delayed until December 26th by Verizon
More than two weeks ago, we passed along a screenshot of a text message received by a Verizon customer who had ordered the 128GB Google Pixel XL. This is the top-of-the line model and has been in heavy demand forcing Verizon to push back shipping dates. Our source decided to see what was going on with his order, which was supposed to ship on November 26th after the original delay of more than two weeks.

After putting in a call to Big Red on November 26th, he was told that the phone would not ship until December 26th. He also received a text message with the same bad news. According to a phone conversation that our reader had with a Verizon customer service rep, the November 26th arrival date that was sent to him earlier this month was a mistake; the December 26th date was the actual ship date.

Our source ended up cancelling his order. He was looking to replace a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and didn't want to carry it around any longer than he had to. So he went with the Motorola Moto Z Force Droid instead.

The Pixel line is shaping up to be a winner. Yesterday, we told you how brokerage house Morgan Stanley expects Google to sell $3.8 billion worth of the smartphones next year. As great as that is for Google, if enough units aren't built, the customers end up having to wait.
