TP-Link announces Neffos X1 and X1 Max smartphones at IFA 2016

TP-Link is a newcomer in the smartphone business, but the Neffos X handsets are not the first launched by the company. Earlier this year, TP-Link, a company known mostly for its networking products, announced three Android smartphones: Neffos C5, C5L, and C5 Max.

Today, the company is back with two new Android smartphones: Neffos X1 and X1 Max. Both have been unveiled at IFA 2016 and will be available for purchase for €199 and €249, respectively.

Unfortunately, there's no telling where exactly the Neffos X series smartphones will be launched, but we do know they will be available in cloudy grey and sunrise gold by Q4 2016.

Specs-wise, both phones are more than capable of standing on their own against high-end smartphones launched by well-established brands.

Both Neffox X smartphones come equipped with octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipsets with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory (expandable up to 128GB). TP-Link will launch versions with 2 and 3GB of RAM as well, so the price of these phones will certainly vary by configuration.

The Neffox X1 sports a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS display, while the X1 Max has a much larger 5.5-inch IPS full HD (1080p) display. Both smartphones feature edge-to-edge displays with a 76% screen-to-body ratio.

Also, both Neffos X smartphones pack 13-megapixel Sony cameras on the back, which feature backside illumination, 5P lens, as well as phase-detection autofocus of just 0.2 seconds. The main camera features an f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone LED flash. There's also a 5-megapixel camera in the front as well.

When it comes to batter, the X1 model is powered by a 2,250 mAh battery, whereas the much larger X1 Max packs a 3,000 mAh battery inside, which is rated for up to 400 hours of standby mode and 13 hours of talk time.
