Some Galaxy Note II units are shipping without the split screen multitasking feature

Some Galaxy Note II units are shipping without the split screen multitasking feature
Some European users are reporting that their Galaxy Note II units don't feature the multitasking mode that Samsung showed recently in a promo video when releasing the handset in Korea. Apparently international units, including ours, ship with the earlier firmware, and don't have the multiwindow option yet.

Hopefully Samsung will be remedying this with an update to the latest firmware, but in the meantime you can watch what a pleasure it is to use this true multitasking regime in the video below.

It allows you to split the giant 5.5" screen, and use it for two apps instead of one at a time, resize the space for each app, and so on. The applications are numerous, and take the Android experience to a whole new level.

I hope there is an update for the US version when it comes to that states within a month or so!! That is one of the best features ive seen on a phone in a while. Makes me want the AT&T variant of this phone even more

I'd assume it would be part of the phone when it launches in the US. Its just an issue since it just launched. Guess they just made this update as they were doing final boxing and only some units got it. No worries.

Right!! Ive never said this, but this phone is sexy lol. You can call it weird, but it worth noticing that Samsung may want you to jkeep this phone well beyond the time your capable of upgrading

Most people keep phones for at least a uear before they upgrade or buy another at full price. This is the type of phone you can keep until the wheels fall off............maybe lol

+1 on expecting the U.S. units of the GN II to ship with dual-screen multi-tasking. With this latest news, I will definitely be getting the GN II. No wonder Apple is wanting to get sales bans in place against Sammy. Sammy is eating Apple's lunch. First the GS III, now this. I can't wait to see the look on the faces of my friends who got iP5s when I pull out the GN II and show them the dual-screen multi-tasking.

Some iPhone users aren't as good as others at masking their jealousy. I know a few who were downright envious when I would see e-mail attachments before they could courtesy of LTE service.

Now they will continue to be envious when I am composing a response while keeping the attachment open on the other window.

Gallito - the GS3 does many things. But one thing it simply can't do. It can't lag. No matter what you do.

dude unfortunately you're wrong, i have a galaxy s3 quadcore and my brother an iphone 5. s3 is so smooth coming out of the box but as you use it it shows occasional lags like scrolling on pages, zooming in/out of photos and you have to kill apps every now and then. however, capacitive buttons react better than my xperia s. as for iphone 5, it's also smooth when it's brandnew, 4 days of using and double clicking the home button shows lag as well. playing graphics intense game however is better in iphone 5. take grand theft auto for example (bcoz there is no infinity blade on the play store)

lol, talking about jealousy... samsung almost always include iPhone in their ads...
those flowy multitask is just an ads, in reality it will be laggy, and you'll be very lucky if it doesn't freeze on you...there's not enough 'butter' from google for all those droids :D

contrary to some reports, there are reports of many i5s being returned for galaxy devices.

I hope one day there are real numbers on the return rate.

Apple fanatics love the i5. People that know jack squat love the i5. People that look around, do comparisons, or pay attention at all rarely go for an i5.

im on the fence about the size. I thought the SGS3 was a little big. Not sure if I can stomach the Note2 though it has everything I want... IN THE US VERSION.. WOO HOO!!.
lol

The ONLY thing that I can find to bitch about is its size since I dont know if I can deal with it. For me, thats amazing. I find too many flaws in pretty much every phone that disqualify it from personal purchase.
The only other american phone I've had super low complaints about for its time, is my SGS1 that I'm still using.
Im not a fan of compromise at $600+. :)

Why don't you talk to your (limited-found trolling)buddy instead. He's the one claiming that this is a fake ad similar to the Nokia ones, which ain't actually the case. You don't kick in beehives and expect not to get stung, do you? Telling voxmarc to grow up is kinda hypocrite from a "neutral" guy.

It's a new feature, Samsung didn't have enough time to update all GNOTE II before shipping them.
But rest assured, they will all get it through a Kies or OTA update.
Unlike Nokia, not saying that the camera of the 920 is bad but it ain't(obviously not a DSLR) as good as promoted in the fake ads.

first not my ''buddy'' as no one on here is my buddy. second so when one says it that gives you the right to slate nokia and other phones......so you basically act just like the one you complain about smart ohh and your beehive thing.........come on thats so immature , you think you and your android lot are some force to be feared or summit

well what im learning is you cant be neutral on here, you have ifans saying random crap, fandroids doing the same, then the reasonable android users who are few. mainly this site is just full of fanboys

and back to the point be honest when they show a feature, especially one like this you would expect it to be shipped ready with it. the whole time thing isnt the case. so can apple claim they didnt have enough time to finish there maps off...becuase you android users have had a field day with that....see what im saying you do the same as those you complain about

and as for the 920's camera, its proved its good some say the best camera on a phone ( under the 808)

and i bet many android users will thumb this down

When someone punch you first, you have the right to punch him back, it's called defense. I assume you must be some kind of jesus or ghandi in disguise, as you're telling me not to return the blow.
Yet you told voxmarc to grow up because he told the truth about Nokia faking their ads. Did he hit the weak spot of your fanboy ego, there?
Anyways, according to you, it's ok to troll and claim fake stuff about Samsung but it's taboo and childish to state facts about Nokia? See the hypocrisy?

Apple claimed that their maps were the best in world blablabla, that's why they got bashed.
Samsung never said that they'll ship the GNOTE II with this new feature. Expection sure leads to deception but it wasn't Samsung's fault. And I'm sure Samsung will make it available through an update asap.

Sure, the 920's cam is the best 8mp shooter atm but yet again still ain't as good as it was promoted in the fake ads.
Whether you like the fact that your beloved Nokia tried to mislead its customers or not, you gotta live with it, buddy.

and as for sayin im some kind of jesus........mature really so because im bored of all the fanboy crap im seen as a passive nothing.

'' according to you, it's ok to troll and claim fake stuff about Samsung but it's taboo and childish to state facts about Nokia? See the hypocrisy?''

for f**ks sake seriously if you read some of my other comment ive defended samsung countless times against ifans and that nokialumia guy but if this is what android users are really like then whats the point of trying to be neutral and fair

as for the feature, if they show therenew phone using it, you expect automatically for that to be included...please if apple showed a feature then tnever brought it to there phone you guys would tear into it.

and as for fanboy ego? your more a fanboy then me. my beloved nokia? what is with you people and thinking a company is part of you get a grip.

but seriously i love how nokia prove there tech can do as they claim and you all rip into them samsung dont deliver a certain feature they show off and your quick to defend

but to end this crap, im done with all you android fans, i thought the ifans were the worst but least they dont hide, there dilusional rants are just that, but android fans pack together. look on the nokia articles and all the red thumbs and no it aint just ifans doing it

,mate ive commented like 4 times about the fake ad crap...so why bring it up? ive seen you get all defensive when someone brings up android and lag

so its ok to defend only if its android.
end it with this lumia 920 camera does what they claimed and beats all flagship models out there

and samsung should of been shipping these with the feature's they show. why show something that doesnt come with it. same principle

It's ok to defend whatsoever company against false accusations(Android is no longer laggy since ICS) not when the company itself recognise its guiltiness(Nokia faking ads).

"why show something that doesnt come with it"
'coz this feature came after the first shipments but they will get it through an OTA update soon. Unlike Nokia fanboys, who will never get the DSLR quality on their Lumia920 as advertised in the fake ads. So nopes, it ain't the same. LMAO!

Going from the L920 to the 808, seems like you're lacking arguments. LMAO!

I'm more into SMARTphones than fat cameraphones anyways. Also I have my EOS 5D for my photos so no worries.

I'll enjoy my split screen multitasking soon enough on my next GNOTE II along with the actual users who will get it soon. And they best of all is that it will perform as advertised. =D

mate i hope for your sake samsung do deliver becuase the way you act its like samsung have never failed or done wrong.

The GNOTE II did pretty well in the drop test. So I'm not concern with crack etc.. Also Samsung never advertised the GSIII as being a tough phone, there's the Galaxy Rugby for that.

and yeah nokia fanboy aint i, i never defend samsung or android do i?......well i doubt i will be anymore. all the ifans get it in the neck (yes most talk complete crap) but you android fans troll just as bad. on every article theres a android fan bringing up apple. even when there nothing to do with it.

and calling me bitter,..... unlike you i dont think im a part of the company. i know you think your in some sort of android army fighting apple and others but your not your just a person who has an android phone

FYI, as I told you several times before, I don't care about camera on smartphones. Otherwise I'd have never made the switch from my N8 to the GSII. I have my 5D for photography.

first- samsung showed this feature so why isnt it reasonable to expect to get it. it is false advertising in the sense there showing something you aint getting straight away

second- devianting how all comes back and responds to your comments so if you claim im devianting you must be aswell

third- lose ground, seriously get this whole battle crap out of your head, we arent in some kind of fight me on nokia's side you on android or samsung.....its stupid ive defended samsung many times yet you brand me a nokia fan, well i like nokia i also like sony and samsung and HTC so am i fanboys to them too.
