Samsung kicks off Note 4 teaser ad campaign in China
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is not expected to make an official appearance before September 3rd, when Samsung will hold its next ‘Unpacked’ event and unveil its fourth-generation phablet to the world, but the company has already started pumping up expectations for the gadget.

Promotional billboards and other teasers have already started appearing in various places in China, a key market for Samsung.

Samsung does not hide the ‘Galaxy Note 4’ name in those ads, first spotted by Digital World on Beijing’s Chang’an Avenue.

Samsung is even inserting hints about the upcoming Note 4 in current ads for the Note 3, so it’s clear that this will be a high-profile launch for the company. Financially, Samsung has seen its fortunes slide significantly in the past quarter, and it’s already started a come-back by unveiling its premium metal-built Galaxy Alpha, and the Note 4 will surely be a big part of the company’s future.

So far, the Note 4 is expected to come with a 5.7-inch display with a Quad HD (1440 x 2560-pixel) resolution, a Snapdragon 805/Exynos 5 chip, and a 16-megapixel camera. Can Samsung grab consumers’ attention with the new Note? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I know a lot of people are excited to see what Sammy has prepped for this handset. I myself can't wait to see it.

Not "desperate" it's just business.

It will certainly be the best thing for GN fans, but I doubt it will be a success.

Most people who purchased GN3 will stick to it til the contract expires, and potential new consumers will either go for used / heavily subsidized GN3 or iPhone6.

Just look at GS5. It was clearly better than GS4, but NOT significantly.

The same fate awaits GN4, and Sammy will report the FIFTH consecutive decline in YoY operating profit early next year.

The S5 was a more significant improvement over the S4 than the 5S was to the 5. It employed a much brighter, color accurate and more efficient screen; significantly improved battery life with software optimizations; brought a UI redesign; became water and dust resistant; incorporated new hardware features such as a fingerprint scanner.

All the 5S did was bring a better DoC (GPU/CPU), fingerprint scanner and marginally improved camera in lowlight environments. The S5 did that too.

The GS lineup peaked at 3 and is going downhill while every iteration of iPhones sold more than its predecessor.

People simply don't want those gimmicks you listed.

Because:

The Cult of Apple is a group of fanatical followers devoted to all things Apple, Macintosh, iPod, and iPhone. While there are no shortage of Apple fanatics who eat, think, and breathe Apple, members of the Cult of Apple take their devotion one step further and believe in Apple. The leader of this Cult is Steve Jobs and is believed to have failed.

Also because:

The Cult of Apple has had a negative impact on the minds of many of its followers. It is largely believed that they brainwash people by telling them to 'think different'. Ironically it turns out that most of the cult's followers turn into mindless zombies believing everything their cult leader, Steve Jobs, tells them and as a result they rather 'think the same'.

Sales, operating profits, revenue.....while this website reports this data, this isn't Forbes Magazine and you're not an analyst. The site gives mostly information to consumers in determining which device is best for them to purchase. You continue to rail about the company in which we should invest. And "high sales" is not a selling point. The fact that Apple can sell fire in hell says more about their customer base than their products. Or, maybe I have it all wrong and Justin Bieber is a great singer because he sells a lot of albums and keeps making a lot of money.

I think it will be a success, but hardly the 2nd coming or the device that will transcend us to a high plane of mobile phone glory some people think.

As you said John Q Smith would probably go for a subsidized GN3 or midrange phab if he was in the market for a larger phone. This phone still has its place though

That add looks so sad. Chinese geek hopes to impress pretty girl with something? And the only thing he can come up with is a bulky cheap plastic phone. Sooo sad.

It got mine attention, as it looks gorgeous!!! I hope it will be waterproof, like my S5, there is no sealing in front of the usb port, but the S5 mini also didn't get one, so i assume it's waterproof .... And, please Samsung, i don't want an Exynos Soc, i want the Snapdragon 805 !!!
