Photos of the LG Fantasy have been leaked, expected to arrive Q1 2012

From the looks of it, the Windows Phone Mango smartphone is slowly coming around as actual in the wild photos of the handset have been snapped by an xda-developers member who claims to have hold of the device. Specifically, he claims that a Romanian tester sold him the smartphone, and as you can tell from the snapshots, they look identical to the rendered shot of the handset.
Based on what the buyer can see, he mentions that the device is packing a 4-inch IPS display and Windows Phone Mango. Aside from those two specifics, nothing else in terms of hardware is known – though, it’s expected to be a premium offering from LG.
As for a release time frame, it’s believed to become available sometime in Q1 2012, which means it can possibly launch somewhere between January and March – so let’s hope the wait is going to benefit the handset.

The last I had heard of the Fantasy, the rumor was it had a CDMA radio on it. If that is true, than it will be will worth the wait. A Sprint release would make sense, as Verizon has said no more WP on their network until LTE comes with it, and that won't be until the Summer buying season with the next Windows update. Sprint could use a WP, and I believe Sprint users might respond well to a Mango offering. LG would not be able to compete with the Samsung Focus S or the HTC Titan on AT&T. T-Mobile users might welcome the Fantasy as a higer end option to the HTC Radar and the Nokia 710, but will T-Mobile brass want a third WP?
I also like the match due to LG's inability to compete, up to now, with other high end Android offerings. Their software just isn't as good on the Green Robot. With WP, LG can focus on a great hardware offering and allow the Microsoft team to ensure a user experience that is worthwile. I hope this is a success. Both LG and WP need a hit.

my understanding is that Tango update will bring LTE support and will come in the first quarter of next year. The summer update will be Apollo or windows phone 8. I could be wrong though...

Hope you are both right! That is much better news. Hope yours and Penny's gossip is better than my gossip. That will get Verizon more supportive of WP which needs the largest US carrier onboard.

I got the HTC Radar recently (couldn't wait for the Lumia 800), my first experience with the WP7 OS. Wasn't expecting much from the 1 GHZ processor of the Radar but was delightfully surprised by the smoothness and responsiveness of the OS! WOW what a beautiful and intuitive OS! Good job, MS!

You're still waiting for a WP too snowgator? Lol. Sprint and Verizon need some love.

Nope, buddy. I caved and got the Focus S on AT&T. They even went live with HPSA+ in my small burb, so I am locked into the evil Empire for two more years. As soon as I saw this, I did think of you. I am cheering for sprint to get it!

Were actually looking into AT&T as well believe it or not lol. Are you liking the new WP7? (Jealous) :p

I got the S, I talked my wife into the Titan. I am super happy. There were several Androids I am sure I would have been fine with, but I really love the WP experience. If AT&T is an option for you, and it isn't for a lot of people, I think the Focus S is one of the best cell phones, not just WP, on the market. I think you owe it to yourself to go play around with one! Fun toys..... :D

Hell yeah dude I'm trying to talk my roomates on switching (family plan) lol. We all have androids and want to try something new. AT&T is a little more pricey, but you also get the quality of a military network lol. I can't stand Sprint anymore. :X

Well while I would be glad to see a new wp7 for Sprint. Why dont they come up with a new design already then the same boring black slab. This looks from the front at least here almost just like Arrive. & we all know lg doesnt really make a quality product, so I think this is a yawn for me...& I will be jumping ship & trying the Nokia Lumia 710 on Tmobile..

If you do, do not be shy in letting us know what you think! I am really curious to how Nokia performs VS other WP hardware!
