Nokia Lumia 830 concept shows what the successor to the Lumia 820 might look like
Now, someone made a Lumia 830 concept design using those images, allowing us to take a closer look at what this upcoming Nokia / Microsoft smartphone might be.
Based on previously leaked info, the concept shows a Lumia 830 that sports an aluminum frame - just like the already released Lumia 930 / Icon. Although Windows Phone 8.1 supports on-screen buttons, the 830 may come with traditional capacitive keys (yes, we know, this doesn’t make too much sense).
It’s said that the Lumia 830 would feature a 4.5-inch display of unknown resolution. The designer of the 830 concept included an iPhone 5s in some images for the sake of comparison. Take a look at the concept in the slideshow below, and let us know if you like what you’re seeing.

This is like an amazing looking version of the 930. I just really didn't like the back of the 930.

Me too...they should keep that back plate for camera.....
6. ArtSim98 (Posts: 2261; Member since: 21 Dec 2012)
Exactly. But the problem with that metal cover is that it scratches a lot. At least it did on the N9. So they should make it somehow scratch resistant.

Yes....920 has ceramic so its a scratch resistant. Like that we need.

looks beautiful, and i agree with akki, n9 is elegant looking piece of device, and with artsim too, it scratches a lot, IMO their design are on downhill, yes, it's beautiful, but it's getting boring a little, i wish next time they put glass on the back with n9 camera design so the metal cover won't get scratched and can be protected with glass protecting film. and surely it will be one if not number one, design... they should redesign their back to have a fresher look and keep the front if they don't want to totally redesign it, if it thus, i'm gonna buy again nokia, even i'm leaning towards to android, and buy sony brand, for my next upgrade, but if they redesign their back, + the Nokia by microsoft, canon partnership, i will buy another nokia products, don't care if it has a WP os, but if the rumors are true, they will make an android device, (not like the android X) that will definitely a big plus factor, and i won't look any other brand again...
i'm a nokia fan, i didn't chose Android and iOS back in 2012, instead i bought n9. even with the lack of cool apps, I'm totally satisfied with it, tho, my n9 are in near end stage now... the battery is in not good condition anymore so i might get the z3 for my next phone, the IP certification and their design language of sony is getting my attention. :)

Is your N9 battery doing weird stuff too? I mean mine was very weird. It could drop from 90 % to 4 % in a few minutes. Then when I put it to idle, it went back to around 40 %. Could it be that there was just some minor water damage or something?
16. marcski07 (Posts: 200; Member since: 25 Apr 2014)
right on! yes it does, this problem is getting worst, i started noticing it when my n9 is two years old. at first it wasn't an issue that much, but now, i can't even use it if i'm browsing the internet, from 100% then after few mins, bam! empty battery, then i'll try to reopen it and it will have 95% battery and if u tried to open your data again, it will again shut down... now it won't notify me that it is battery empty, it will turn it off right away, i can now only use my n9 if i plugged in the charger... my n9 will be 3years old next january.. definitely i suspect the battery is bloated, because when i put my n9 on the flat surface it is tilted to the right, and that means there's a bump already, but i can't see it, the curvature of the n9 hides it..

I avoided W7 altogether and as a Nokia man Symbian, I upgarded to s Samsung Galaxy flagship phone Android
A deal breakers is for a phone to have BOTH
i) MICROSD EXPANSION
ii) REMOVABLE BATTERY
Every Smartphone I have bought has
Re the other comments, the rumour i hear is that the 830 will only have a 13MP camera
We await a PREMIUM Lumia phone that has both i) MICROSD EXPANSION & ii) REMOVABLE BATTERY
I "upgraded" to the Lumia 820
Nokia / Microsoft will provide BOTH expansion & battery to the entry level phones
The 930 is the 1520 minus 1" screen size
FYI Nokia have removed mSD expansion from the 6" Phablet Lumia 1520
To create the 5" Lumia 930 which now has a removable battery which the 1520 did not
The Lumia 930 is a tweaked Lumia 1520
As a new member I can't add the URL but please do a comparison on the Lumia 930 v Lumia 1520
We know that Lumia can have BOTH mSD and removable battery but that it just WON'T be in a flagship phone
@13MP is 5MP up on the 820 8Mp, but less than 20MP of the 1520 / 930
I really do NOT expect when the PPI for the Lumia 830 comes out whether it will be Retina display or 326 PPI but if the Lumia 830 keps both i & ii I do do expect it to have a high PPI
The 820 will be my only foray into Windows if Nokia Flasghip phones are "Apples" or "half apples"

Dude, we're talking about the metal cover/plate that's around the camera area. :)

Saw it with a MS rep while they were showing the 635 at work. "uncomfirmed" by his smile and nod of the quadhd screen, 32gb, sdcard, 801 soc, 20mp snapper, and 6in goodness. He took it out to take some photos. I thought it was the 1520 so I asked to see it and promptly stated, "sorry its a prototype that if tmobile wants it, they can get it, we surely want them too." Also 'confirmed' or had me hold off on pulling the trigger on a 1020 this weekend with my bonus.

Any clue to what WP 9 will look like UI wise?

Because they are giving importance in unifying their products,i think it will be alot like Windows 9 aka Threshold.
I would really like to see this-
We have option to select a wallpaper (for Start and all apps list just like windows 8).
Tiles are still transparent,so we can look at the wallpapers through live tiles but it's a bit blurred than the actual wallpaper. Same goes for Windows 8. I think that's gonna look pretty cool.

That's a gorgeous design. If Nokia made a high-end Android phone with same looks, and PureView camera, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

I hope it has a 1.7 quad core processor. Or more :) , and water and dust proof
21. raky_b (Posts: 9; Member since: 02 Jul 2014)
with this kinda look, 720p screen, 16mp camera (pureview would be big plus), 2GB RAM, snapd.800/801, more then 2500mAh battery and price od One+ it would be bestseller.
but since it is Nokia/M$ it will cost not less then 600$,with same spec. as Galaxy S4 mini (or with cuad core processor)

The all polycarbonate Nokia which are colored through are extremely hardy. They seem able to take a beating without any protection and still look decent.

It looks like a compact version of the Icon\930. It's a sexy beast...

How much is it going to be cause the L6 series are entry the L7 series is low/midrange, the L8 series is midrange and L9 is is premium with the exceptions of the 1020 and phablets

I'm love this specification:
4.7" HD Amoled ، 2GB ram ، 16GB Storage + micro SD ، snapdragon 600 quad core 1.5GHz ، Adreno 320 ، 14MP ( pureview ) camera with OIS and 1/2.8 inch sensor and ، 3000 mAh and cost 400$ for Lumia 830 !

Nice specs! :), but should have dual led (true-tone) or xenon flash :) :) :)
