Motorola DROID Turbo to have a massive 3900 mAh battery
Yesterday, we showed you a leaked User Guide for the unannounced Motorola DROID Turbo, mentioning that the handset’s battery could be fully charged in 3 hours. And while that’s not quite fast when we talk about regular smartphone batteries, it may be impressive in the case of the DROID Turbo.

As it turns out, the new Motorola DROID could have a 3900 mAh battery. The handset’s battery allegedly showed up somewhere in China, and that’s how we can see its capacity. Of course, we can’t be 100% sure that this is indeed the DROID Turbo’s battery, though we must mention that its model number (EQ40, as seen below) has been confirmed when the smartphone was approved by the FCC.

Giant battery aside, the Motorola DROID Turbo should feature a 5.2-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels, a 21 MP rear camera, 3 GB of RAM, and a quad-core 2.7 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor. Like all DROID models, the Turbo will be exclusively available at Verizon Wireless.

According to Droid-life, the Motorola DROID Turbo could be officially announced on October 28, or October 29. We’ll see then how much of the info presented above is correct.

Wow, if this is true this will be one truly impressive handset from Moto. Should have done the same with the Moto X.

Yup I totally agree with you...
This should have been the Moto X (2014). At least a bigger battery would have been good...

I am crying like anything since this device won't available in my country... :'(

Since it is stated in the manual like quick charge takes 3 hrs.
I think this might be true.

Anyway lets wait for the official announcement...

I meant for the Moto X 2014. The rumors for that phone was a 2900maH battery. Instead it turned out to be 2300... what a shame really.

Being on Verizon I really look forward to the Droid Turbo and Xperia Z3v.

Yeah but don't expect this to be cheap. Definitely not as cheap as the Moto X. Maybe Motorola are now capable of targeting all segments. Moto E (Ultra low end). Moto G (Mid ranger). Moto X (High End). Moto Turbo (Ultra High End)

specs dont mean a thing. Moto cameras suck, the design is ugly as hell and nobody got time for that voice command thing, nobody use it

Cameras do suck, design is good to me, but it's subjective, and the voice commands are very good.

The camera on the Moto X 2014 is much improved over the last one but the software/ firmware still needs some tweaking.

What I like about Motorola is the active notifications where just a small portion of the screen turns on to show you new messages/ missed calls.

The camera is better than the last X, but it is still behind a lot of other cameras. It's bad enough that I use my 5S for indoor pictures because low-light performance is just not good.

And I'm sure by nobody you mean you, since you probably don't own the thing.

Your stupid comment is stupid.

The voice commands are used a lot by umm me? I had the moto x 2013 and now the moto x 2014. The commands I use a lot. The camera of the 2013 did suck but with the tweaks motorola made to their software have really improved the camera in 2014.

Just saying maybe if you owned the thing you might actually know how useful or not useful the product and its software actually is...

No way it'll hit 4 days of battery life. My Droid Maxx gets around 32-36 hours off a charge, and it has a 3500mAh battery and a 720p screen. This phone with a 3900mAh battery and QHD resolution will net around the same maybe less.

All depends on use and location too. But I understand what you're saying.

My uses.....this phone might last 2-3 days.

Those that wonder what I mean by location, your phone will last longer in a better reception area.

Droid is a Verizon trademark (from Lucas Arts) but Motorola did launch global versions of some of their phones under different names so this may be the case with this one.

Also this device won't be DOA for those on Verizon.

The contract for use of the name was up this year, maybe they extended it. I know Verizon said that Motorola was going to be the only OEM to make Droid phones going forward.

I wish the Moto X 2014 had 64GB and a bigger battery. That would have been the perfect device for me. Dual Speakers would have been nice like the Moto G 2014, but the front firing speaker is acceptable.

Why release it only in USA? Why not make it available in other countries like India?
Of late Motorola has done excellent in India & we are loving Motorola in India..
Please make devices like these with good features & excellent battery available in India also...

They released their Droid Razr series in other countries, without the Droid name, obviously. Verizon is paying them to make these phones, so it's only natural they only release it on Verizon. They don't want to take away attention from the Moto X.
