Inserting your S Pen the wrong way could permanently destroy your Samsung Galaxy Note5

Inserting the S Pen into your Samsung Galaxy Note5 the wrong way can permanently damage your phablet

Before the Samsung Galaxy Note5, previous Note models were designed to prevent you from inserting the S Pen the wrong way with the top of the Pen going into its housing first. But with the Galaxy Note5, Samsung created a spring-based method to help users eject the pen out of the phablet. And with this new technology, Samsung disabled the safety mechanism that prevented the S Pen from being inserted backwards.

The big problem for Galaxy Note5 users is that should they accidentally insert their S Pen backwards, it could permanently damage the phone. Either the S Pen gets stuck inside the device forever, or the spring release technology is damaged and can never be used again. Either way, your new pride and joy is broken, and the S Pen detection feature won't work anymore.

If you own the Samsung Galaxy Note5, let this be a warning; you need to make sure that the S Pen is replaced the right way. More importantly, you need to watch those you lend your phone to lest they replace the S Pen incorrectly. And that certainly includes your kids, who might not realize what they are doing when they try to put the S Pen back into its home.

I'm Note user since day one, and I have NEVER tried yet by mistake to put my S-Pen wrong way.
BTW the link of source (of course some "Android...blah" site. lol)
didn't show on the video how they broke it(and why didn't they?) They just showed one already broken S-Pen.
This is nothing but doctored bashing Samsung article.

You're stupid.
First off its just a warning to users who likely don't pay attention. People WITH common sense will know to place the pen back the same way they pulled it out. However the potential for accidents of common. At least we are getting a warning.

You're so stupid as to troll every article. There si no law that says Samsung had to make it do you cant accidently put the pen in backwards.

God gave you 2 eyes, all you have to do si use them.
You are such a dog...yea I said it. You're a dog.

Why aren't you banded? You bring nothing to the table but BS. Do you work for PA? Are you an employee? FESS UP!!!!

someones going to play with a friends note 5 one day and unwillingly put the pen in the other way and screw someones note up lol ,this will affect some(small number) people over time slowly ...not really too serious of a issue though at all

The article missed to say, that EVEN if you do so, the clicking part is on the pen- not on the phone.
And if you break it(it could happen only if press hard) you just buy new S-Pen.
To reach the phone internals with pen put in the wrong way, you need to use a hammer.
This is just another doctored article for bashing Note 5. LOL

no dude it is very easy to break the pen detection mechanism, you just have to slide it in about half way backwards and then you have permanently broken the pen detection mechanism. to be honest there is no excuses for this from Samsung, this is literally the first stylus device in the world ever released that has this issue EVER, literally, the old past palm treos, etc never had this issue, all of samsungs line up with the s-pen that isnt the note 5 does not suffer from this issue at all, not even their tablets, the primary user here doesnt even have to be the culprit

"....it is very easy to break the pen detection mechanism..."
So WHY then the apple-shills from Android Police didn't show the video how they managed to damage it???(for sure they have such video) And we to see how easy it is.
WHY they just showed it only when is already damaged?
What is your guess??? LOL

It breaks the switch inside if you put it past a certain point, which is a little less then half way. If the pen didnt have the clickable part this wouldnt be a issue at all but the clickable part of the pen catches on to something inside and when you pull your pen out you break it

They did tell you how it happened, they inserted the pen the other way and it broke. Thats all it requires .

Dont get your post.

Yes, because this is exactly what this is, inserting it wrong. Not an issue that can arise from normal and correct usage of the handset and its pen.

Your dream of PenGate . LOL
Here to explain again.
Even if you put it wrong, the clicking part is on the pen- not on the phone.
And if clicking part stop working (it could happen only if press S-Pen hard wrong way) you just buy new S-Pen.
To reach the phone internals, though, with pen put in the wrong way, you need to use a hammer. Because the thick back part of the Pen can not pass there. To stuck the pen inside wrong way , you need a hammer, too.
So, this is just another doctored article for bashing Note 5.
And that's normal for the tech media.

You never done anything in your life that was stupid just cause you didn't pay attention? We humans have destroyed billions worth of spaceships cause of our stupidity and killed so many innocent people cause being careless. This will definitely happen. Especially when you lend your note 5 to a never used note 5 user.

That's a serious design flaw. One small little mistake could basically ruin a big part of the phone. And it seems careless too, as previous galaxy devices didn't have the problem. Even on my new 3DS, you can only insert it one way.

Or the autor is trying to make some bad noise around note 5 device?
