HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE delayed until July 5th?
Share:
The latest speculation being thrown out is a new launch date of July 5th. Considering that would leave only 5 days for the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE to make its mark at Verizon before the Samsung Galaxy S III comes, we'd say that the delay must have been simply unavoidable to put the phone in the position that it now faces. The latest MAP list for Big Red shows the model priced at $149.99 which we understand will be the price following a $50 mail-in-rebate. The carrier obviously was forced to price the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE below the $199.99 price it will be asking for the 16GB Samsung Galaxy S III.
The HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE will be equipped with a 4 inch qHD Super LCD display with pixel density of 275ppi. Under the hood you will find a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with 1GB of RAM on board. 8GB of native storage is included and that can be expanded with the 32GB capacity microSD slot. The 8MP camera on back has AF, an LED flash and an aperture of f/2.2. Video is captured in 1080p and there is a .3MP front-facing shooter. A 1700mAh battery powers the device which will features Sense 4.0 running on top of Android 4.0.
If you haven't yet seen it, or want to refresh your memory, check out our HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE hands-on!

Ditto. Great network, but I'm sick of VZ's laggy, 7-month old, bezeltacular line-up. Pathetic selection vs. the other big 3; especially AT&T. Bored with my tiny, 3G iPhone. Having android withdrawal. Impatiently awaiting the delayed (especially on Verizon) GS3.

Explain to me why it is that verizon is the only one with such huge delays? First it was the thunderbolt, then the Gnex, then this, then the GS3. WTF VZW? Stop doing so much useless testing and just release the phones. It's not like you catch anything with your stupid testing anyway.

At least with this phone a bunch of people won't be upset with this delay. This phone can't have much of a "fan base" behind it unlike the SIII.

Conveniently places the launch after the new Data plans Launch to get those pesky customers off the unlimited data plans with the new upgrade clause.

Yeah, I was hoping to take a look at this phone to see how it compared with my original DINC, but now that won't happen. I need to upgrade before the 28th to keep unlimited, so my decision process just got easier. Galaxy S III it is!

yeah, i'm gonna have to get an SIII too. oh well HTC.

Wish they had released it in time. The INC4G really is a great phone. Major fail it will be in immediate competition with the SGSIII......

Lol, good choice but i recently spoke to a Verizon rep and by the time u activate ur GSIII, ur unlimited data is gone. Consider paying full retail to keep ur unlimited or get another phone.

I'm pretty sure that if you preorder it and your contract effective date is before June 28th, you should keep your data. The key will be when your effective contract date is.
King says he has it in writing he will keep his data if he preorders it, so if he has that, I don't see how he won't keep it. We had that little conversation the other day.

I have two separate emails from two different Verizon reps stating that if I preorder prior to June 28th, I will keep my unlimited data plan.
26. KingKurogiii posted on 22 Jun 2012, 17:01 1 1
yeah, i confirmed with a rep today. i'll be pre-ordering a GSIII sometime this evening. o:

Same here - I had it confirmed that if I pre-ordered prior to 6/28, then I get to keep my unlimited data, regardless of when my contract ends. If they try to rescind, I will return the phone and switch to another network. Not because of having my unlimited data taken away (because I know I'll have to give it up someday), but because they would have lied to me.
22. cfprelude posted on 22 Jun 2012, 15:01 0 0
incorrect - well documented that this is NOT the case for preorders through VZW directly.
30. DigitalBoy05 posted on 23 Jun 2012, 12:15 0 0
that was sadly a tactic to get you to switch. i work for verizon and the internal training doc discussing the new plans says in giant bold letters that if you preorder your galaxy 3 you are gaurenteed to keep your unlimited data. just have to preorder before the 28th

Man...yet another release date! Really? Come-on Verizon, enough already. Like to get this phone mainly because of the 4" screen, that's the ideal size. Do like the SIII but man, don't want to handle a mini-tablet in the hand...got to reach the entire screen with just one hand not double fisted!! Oops, did I just say that!

The lg lucid has nearly the same specs, but is priced at half the droid incredible lte. The only thing this phone has over the lg lucid is the fact that it ships with ice cream sandwich. I have a feeling this phone won't sell well as its still priced to closely to the galaxy s III.
11. androiddownsouth posted on 22 Jun 2012, 11:55 1 1
That is so wrong to say it only illustrates just how little you know about the phone. I've had my hands on it and sell these phones for a living, and there is zero comparison between these two phones. the Lucid isn't in the same galaxy as the INC4G.

They are delaying it for economic reasons to FORCE you into the new plans...they couldve had the SGSIII out by yesterday I heard but that wouldn't work out for their new 'shared plan' system that supposed to save oh so much moolah...pshh what a joke I am some what regretting leaving sprint for them to wait for the SGSIII
12. Femto posted on 22 Jun 2012, 12:04 1 0
I hear where you're coming from; and I'm frustrated as heck with Verizon's delays, too. BUT, you did the right thing leaving Sprint for VZ. Voice, 3G, and LTE coverage are all objectively superior on Verizon; not to mention the customer service. We just need to be patient for a few more weeks for the payday. Hang in there.

The new plans will not be right for everyone, that is true. That said, there are some customers these plans will actually save some money. Some will, some won't. Much like the wide selection of phones, not 1 phone is right for all people.
Losing unlimited data does suck to be sure, but I would be shocked if other carriers don't follow suit soon. We know how it goes, it usually just takes one carrier to do something, then the rest follow right behind when it comes to things like this.
18. CupZ83 posted on 22 Jun 2012, 13:12 0 1
I dunno if i can swallow paying 50 for 1GB of data tho (being that it wont come out til after the 28th and I will be a new customer then) :/...yeah well there's no way sprint can afford to do so or they will get bought out and Tmo may not be able to do so either....AT&T has the base to do so...until we the consumer take a stand we will continually get f****d and they dare us to go prepaid but eventually and starting soon prepaid will end up with great phones if not right away eventually they we can f**k them back :D...

If you are going 1 line, then for the phone and data, it will be $80 for unlimited talk/text and 1GB of data, $90 for same but 2GB of data, and $100 for same and 4GB of data, in 2GB for $10 increments.
Sure it's more than some carriers, but in my area, for instance, Verizon by far has the most comprehensive coverage of all carriers, and there will never be a prepaid service that offers the quality of coverage that a contract phone/service will.
Cricket and other prepaid providers may have the iPhone 4 etc, but their service is garbage comparitively speaking.
As much as it sucks, prices for everything seem to be going up, and cellular service is no exception.
The average user of data will likely see value in the new Verizon plans, but heavy data users will pay more if they don't want to buy a phone at retail.

not to be an a** but, 50(1GB data)+40(smart phone fee)=90/mo and 60(2GB data)+ 40= 100 yeah its 10 dollars but that before taxes and without insurance so it does add up...and yes unfortunately for my area that too is the only provider that has any coverage and data relevance above abysmal in my area :/

Is that a typo regarding the front facing shooter? It's only .3 MP? Or is it 2.3 MP?

really?? and how would you know that if it hasnt been released?... I have my phone in my hand where is your Droid Incredible 4G LTE?... to compare. ahhh you dont have it..

I have had this device in my hands on two different occaisions. One was my company's sales rally in April. The other was a small gathering at the HTC box at Autozone park in Memphis at a Memphis Redbirds game.
Why the phone hasn't been released before now is not my department.
Some people know more than I do on many things, but I DEFINITELY know more than you BY FAR about this phone and how your iPhone isn't in the same league as the INC4G.
Hope you enjoy chewing on that nasty foot you currently have in your mouth. Based on many of your posts on other topics, you seem to like it a lot.....

Bad time yet again for HTC. will be hard to compete with GSIII
