First Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ software update rolling out now, battery usage optimization included
Not long after releasing a software update for the Galaxy Note5, Samsung today started rolling out a similar update for another one of its high-end, extra-large handsets: the Galaxy S6 edge+ (which, as you may know, shares many of its internals with the Note5).

Te update weighs in at 138.14 MB, and, at the moment, it seems to be available only for unlocked Galaxy S6 edge+ units in India and Europe. However, carrier variants of the handset all over the world will likely get the update pretty soon, too. Just like on the Note5, the new update for the Galaxy S6 edge+ brings battery usage enhancements, call stability improvements, and better device security. As our tests have shown, the S6 edge+ offered great battery life since launch, but enhancements in this regard are always welcome.

Besides the update detailed above, Samsung is also getting ready to update the Galaxy S6 family, the Note5, Note 4, and various other devices to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Unfortunately, for now we do not have exact release dates for the Marshmallow update, but we'll let you know as soon as Samsung has anything to share on this.
