European Samsung Galaxy S6 receives update to repair memory issue

European versions of the Samsung Galaxy S6 are receiving an OTA update that fixes a problem that some users are having with the handset's memory management. Apps in the background are closing earlier than they should be, and the phone is showing other signs of  having memory issues. To the rescue comes software version G920FXXU1AODG, which weighs in at 138.32MB.

According to the changelist, the update brings stability improvements, bug fixes, new and enhanced features and further improvements to performance. Reportedly the update was exactly what the doctor ordered. Affected Galaxy S6 users say that after installing the update, their handset runs "snappier."

The update is also expected to be coming to the European version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. If you own either flagship model, keep your eyes peeled for the notification that the update has hit your device and is ready to be downloaded and installed on your phone. When you are ready to begin the updating process, make sure that you are using a Wi-Fi connection. Also, check to make sure that the battery has been recharged to at least 50%.
