Check out these rumored specs for the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact and Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra
Perhaps you've already consumed breakfast, and it is too early for lunch. Still, it is time for you to head toward the spice rack and pull out the salt, because we suggest that you take this story with a least a grain of the stuff. A report published on Saturday lists the rumored specs for both the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact and the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra. You could say that when it comes to Sony's first half smartphone releases for 2015, this will be the long and short of it.

The Sony Xperia Z4 Compact is expected to maintain the tradition of previous Xperia Compact models by offering flagship type specs in a, well, compact package. For the Xperia Z4 Compact, that means a 4.7-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That combination should provide a high pixel density. Under the hood will be the Snapdragon 810 CPU and there will be 3GB of RAM on board. The device will feature 32GB of native storage and will be equipped with stereo speakers. Back and front-facing cameras will weigh in at 20.7MP and 5MP, respectively. The Xperia Z4 Compact will have IP68 certification and come with LTE Cat.9, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC connectivity. While a precise battery capacity wasn't leaked, the phone should offer wireless charging.

The Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra will be equipped with a 6.44-inch screen, with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. It also will employ the Snapdragon 810 CPU and have 3GB of RAM inside. A 16MP camera adorns the back of the unit, and the phablet is said to resemble an overgrown Sony Xperia Z3. While the Sony Xperia Z Ultra supported the use of a pencil as an input tool, the Xperia Z4 Ultra will come with its own stylus. The battery capacity for the handset needs to be large to support the huge screen, and the talk is that the cell will weigh in between 3500 and 4000mAh. This is quite a bit different than previous rumors of a Xperia Z4 Ultra with a 5.9-inch glass, powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset.

Due to the shortages of the Snapdragon 810 chipset, both of these models are now expected to be delayed with a possible launch during the second quarter of the year. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia Z4 and Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet are both expected to be introduced on January 5th, just before the start of the 2014 CES show.

Thanks for the tip!

Wow. You sure are negative towards Sony. I remember you proudly saying that the Note 4 will crush the Z3 here in PA's battery tests way before the review of both phone and the Z3 won't come even close to the Note. Well, you sure were wrong.

1) 810 won't be ready by then
2) Most likely 1080p once again
3) Ugly UI

Valid reason to be disappointed.

We can't tell about 810's fate in the future and 1080p is very enough for a standard. I'm still happy with 1080p for the Note 3's 5.7in display.

1080p display with snapdragon 805 is enough . only problem is the u.i which is anyway better than crapwiz .

Let me know when Timescape can catch up to Touchwiz in terms of features and productivity and then we can talk.

Honestly, TW is very functional. I know, because I was a Sony Xperia X8 and Xperia S user, currently using the SS GN3. Multiwindow, S-Pen, air/voice commands, swipe contact to the left to message/ swipe contact to the right to call, sensors (step, temp, baro, humid), MTM and there are small functions that can do big. The drawback? It's heavy, uses 1.7-2GB of RAM (minimum use is 1.2GB if RAM is cleared) but there are no lags, just stutters like in iOS (I'm also an iPad user). The UI skin is also heavy.

Sony's advantage is in their multimedia apps and its UI lightness and UI skin is also light (more Android-ish looks). BONUS: XUI has tap to wake, TW doesn't. (Important feature for me).

Im not sure if multi window is better than smakk apps as small apps is more flexible and can use more apps at the same time

2) I or we. don't. need. 2k. 4k. res.
3) it's your preference, TW on other hand is ugly for me, and for others. so, it's not valid reason,

1) perhaps will disappoint. they should go 810, or i'll post pone on choosing their flagship and wait.

Sony always behind other brands.
Z has S4, others S600.
Z3 has 801, others 805.

Why's that? I see the 805 as an enhanced 801 with faster GPU to handle QHD screens. It's a stopgap. 810 will be the flagship chip of 2015.

805 has not proven any better performance bump over the 801. The 805 is already old tech.

810 should offer much better performance, if its ever released..

Where did u get s805 doesnt have any performance boost over sd801. You are dead wrong in the gpu part. Adreno 420 has about a 40%-60% performance bump up from adreno 330. Now you are kind of right in the cpu part. Krait 450 offers about a 10% increase from krait 400. Also s805 uses 64 bit ram which it cant really take advantage of because krait 450 isnt wide enough.

Don't think the compact Z4 will happen.

because:
Official Flagships: every half a year
Compact versions: each whole year

Ultra may happen, though.

The Z3 compact was just released.

Instead of supporting the current phones, they release another one in six months. The surprising this is that fans aren't mad !!!

Now if they would strong arm Verizon and release the proper versions of these devices on their network. The Z3v is still nice but not as nice as the Z3 and there is no Z3 Compact to be had. I guess if it doesn't get released on Verizon I can get one as a backup anyway and use a prepaid SIM...
