Just a few days after Apple unveiled its iPhone 18 Pro lineup, Xiaomi launched its 18 Pro series in China. It consists of two phones: the Xiaomi 18 Pro and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The good news is that Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that both devices would also launch globally.
That said, a latest report shares details about the global prices of the Xiaomi 18 Pro phones, and looking at them, you would think of apologizing to Apple if you ever called its iPhone 18 Pro Max an expensive smartphone.
Global pricing of the Xiaomi 18 series
YTECHB, a highly reputable website, recently shared the pricing of the Xiaomi 18 Pro family. According to it, the 256 GB and 512 GB variants of the Xiaomi 18 Pro will cost €1,449 (~$1,627) and €1,649 (~$1,851), respectively, in Europe. Its big brother, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be available at €1,849 (~2,076), and it is reportedly arriving only in the 512 GB model.
Of course, European and US pricing are not directly comparable, and also, the devices are not launching in the American market. Still, if you put the US pricing of the latest Xiaomi flagships next to the recently unveiled iPhone 18 Pro Max, you will find that the Apple phone really looks affordable. For reference, the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts from $1299. Interestingly, the converted price of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max indicates that it is even more expensive than the iPhone Duo that costs $1999 for the 256 GB option.

The phones will feature smaller battery capacity
The battery capacity of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series has also been shared by YTECHB. In China, the Pro model has a 7,000 mAh battery, whereas the Pro Max variant comes with an 8,500 mAh cell. However, their global variants are reported to feature a smaller battery capacity.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro will reportedly come with a 6,000 mAh battery. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, on the other hand, is most likely to feature a 7,050 mAh cell. Both devices will also support 50 W wireless charging. When it comes to wired charging, the Pro model is reported to be compatible with 90 W wired charging, whereas the Pro Max will support 100 W wired charging.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series comes with some really great specification
Undoubtedly, the global pricing of the Xiaomi 18 Pro lineup is reported to be insanely high, but it is also worth noting that the devices come with some really top-level specifications. Firstly, they come with their own form of privacy display technology to compete against the Galaxy S26 Ultra privacy display. Users on Reddit also seem excited to give it a try, as one user commented under a relevant post that they are really impressed by seeing a new version of the privacy display.

The processor is powerful as well, with the Pro model coming with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC and the Pro Max running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The phones impress in the camera department as well, with the bigger phone featuring a triple-camera setup at the back. And as mentioned above, the battery capacity is really massive.
Xiaomi is apparently losing its flagship killer tag
Xiaomi has always been known as a brand that offers killer specifications at a comparatively lower price. Take the Xiaomi 17, for example, which has received the award for the best flagship for the money in our list of the best Xiaomi flagships of 2026. However, the flagship-killer tag of Xiaomi might take a hit if its latest 18 Pro lineup launches in Europe at the insanely high reported prices.
The concerning news is that not only Xiaomi but also smartphones from many other Chinese manufacturers are launching at high prices in the European market. The Vivo x500 Pro family and Oppo Find X10 series are a great example of that. Surely, all this is related to the ongoing memory shortage, which has ultimately caused smartphone prices to skyrocket. All that said, I would highly advise taking the reported prices of the Xiaomi 18 Pro lineup with a grain of salt, as there hasn't been any official confirmation of them.
