MobileX could be secretly trying to rival SpaceX's Starlink Mobile. Boost Mobile founder and former CEO Peter Adderton bought AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) shares, and there's a potential acquisition on the horizon that could boost the company's satellite ambitions.

Adderton posted on X that the current $40 low is safe enough for him to take a chance, and he also believes that at the current level, the stock represents AST SpaceMobile's real value.
He also said that mobile operators should try to build a viable alternative to the looming SpaceX threat. His position is backed by Deutsche Telekom CEO Timotheus Hottges, who publicly urged other carriers and mobile network operators to avoid deals with SpaceX.

Earlier this month, after weeks of speculation, SpaceX finally announced its plans to build the world's most advanced network and challenge the three big US carriers — AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
The company is rolling out a flexible network that combines Direct-to-Device (D2D) Starlink satellites with terrestrial network infrastructure to provide full coverage across the United States.
SpaceX acquired 14 MHz of low-band spectrum in the 800 MHz band, which, along with the Gen2 satellite constellation, could become the first US network to use a satellite and terrestrial hybrid architecture.

AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon are pooling spectrum resources through an unprecedented joint venture in order to cover dead zones and extend satellite connectivity.
For Adderton and Boost Mobile, acquiring AST SpaceMobile could be a viable alternative in this battle. The plan of action is still unknown, with the former CEO outlining a couple of potential scenarios, including a joint venture, an acquisition, or a global consortium.
