Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 model gets the FCC nod but strangely with a 25W charger
The unlocked Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 version for the US market, dubbed with the SM-F936U model number, has been granted sales authorization by the FCC, reports MySmartPrice, passing its emissions and interference tests with flying colors.

The phones is expected to land with top 2022 specs such as a bendably 7.6" high-res internal display that supports high and dynamic refresh rate thanks to Samsung's LTPO OLED technology.  Fortunately, Samsung may have not given up on the under-display camera due to its inferior quality, bur rather double down with a 16MP shooter there.

A Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ would power the whole shebang with copious amounts of storage and 12GB RAM memory to boot, including a 512GB and a 1TB version. The external 6.2" display would also sport 120Hz refresh rate, but it's not clear if it will be dynamically adjustable or on an on/off basis, yet a 10MP punch-hole front camera is almost a given in it.

Samsung's Galaxy S22 camera kit may find its place on the back of the foldable phone, with a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide one, and a 10MP 3x zoom camera. A decent 4,400 mAh battery that will likely give the Galaxy Z Fold 4 battery life no boost over its predecessor is rumored as well.

Here comes the strange part in the FCC's listing. As the Z Fold 4 would support all the 5G and Wi-fi 6E connectivity that Samsung and Qualcomm can throw at it, and top of the line specs across the board, save for a periscope camera, it's a bit weird that the FCC did the charging test with a EP-TA800 adapter.

If you recall, this is Samsung's bog standard 25W charging brick, while the rumors were that the GAlaxy Z Fold 4 will support SAmsung's fastest 45W charging system. Well, as we know Samsung went the Apple way long time ago, and now doesn't include a charger in the box, so the FCC probably compiled its test setup with the most common Samsung charger out there.

Let's not forget that, while the S22 Ultra and, perhaps, the Z Fold 4, top Samsung's phone price list, they also support its fastest charging, yet you still have to buy the 45W charger separately as it doesn't come in the box.
