Between the recent Motorola Signature 27 and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max announcements, it might seem safe to assume that the Galaxy S26 Ultra's days as the best Android phone money can buy are numbered.

But any ultra-high-end handset that wants to take on Samsung's (non-foldable) crown jewel needs to do a lot more than win the head-to-head specification battle... on paper, and while one of those two new heavyweight contenders is unlikely to ever be officially released stateside, the other one could end up costing far too much to be taken seriously.

The Galaxy S26 Plus is slightly smaller, slightly humbler, and slightly more affordable than the S26 Ultra at its latest substantial discount with no strings attached.

Whether or not the Galaxy S26 Ultra will get a nationwide price hike soon, this killer new Amazon discount is not to be missed by hardcore Samsung fans and general Android power users. With only one storage variant and one color option marked down by close to $350 from a list price of $1,299.99, there's clearly a very good chance the new deal will go away soon, so you'd better hurry.

I'm not (necessarily) saying that Motorola will price the second-gen Signature over $1,300 in the US, but if you hurry, you can spend close to 350 bucks less than that on a Galaxy S26 Ultra with no strings attached. That's right, you don't need to trade in your existing device or have a valid Prime membership to take advantage of this extraordinary new Amazon deal, and while you might be inclined to wait for the e-commerce giant's second big Prime Day sales event of the year before pulling the trigger, I'm not sure that's a great idea.

That's because Samsung's $1,299.99 recommended US price for an entry-level S26 Ultra variant is rumored to permanently go up soon, and in fact, a number of color options are already listed at a "regular" price of $1,399.99 on Amazon.

If the $100 price hike becomes official across the nation in the next couple of weeks, I wouldn't be shocked if Amazon's best Prime Big Deal Days 2026 promotion proved less impressive than this one, which doesn't require a Prime subscription... or anything else. All you need is to be okay with opting for a 256GB storage configuration and a Sky Blue colorway (which is undeniably eye-catching anyway).
