Samsung's ultra-expensive Galaxy S26 Ultra is a Prime Day must-buy at a huge $420 discount
Probably the best (non-foldable) Android phone in the world is on sale at a killer discount mere days after getting a permanent price hike.

Originally priced at $1,299.99 and recently hiked up to $1,399.99 in an entry-level configuration, the 6.9-inch Galaxy S26 Ultra with a built-in S Pen is marked down at the time of this writing by no less than 420 bucks from its newly revised starting price. The catch? You (obviously) need a Prime membership to score that rare discount.
Amazon's fresh Prime Big Deal naturally extends to a 512GB storage variant as well, which is also discounted by $420 from its current list price of $1,599.99. Just how unusual is this promotion? Pretty unusual but not totally unprecedented, mind you.
In fact, both the 256 and 512 gig models have been available at even lower prices than right now in the not-so-distant past at both Amazon and Samsung's official US e-store. But due to the device manufacturer's latest round of price hikes, this might be the cheapest you'll be able to get the Galaxy S26 Ultra this (extended) holiday shopping season.

Keep in mind that you're looking at an absolute beaut and a total Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powerhouse here, and although an undoubtedly improved Galaxy S27 Ultra is only a few months away from a formal announcement at this point, I wouldn't count on that bringing many radical changes or upgrades to the table... or keeping its predecessor's current prices unchanged.
So, no, unless you're willing to spend a fortune on a slightly better phone, I don't think you should wait for the S26 Ultra's potentially repetitive sequel. And if you're an Amazon Prime member, it may not be wise to wait for a better holiday deal than this either. Especially not when you can save $420 without any other strings attached on your colorway of choice.
