T-Mobile might not be getting positive attention all of the time, what with the carrier’s insistence on incorporating the T-Life app in every facet of its operations, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not winning. A new report on T-Mobile’s 5G capabilities compared to competitors AT&T and Verizon might help the un-carrier score more customers than any ad ever could.

What does the report say?

The aforementioned report went into a lot of spectrum-related specifics about how T-Mobile’s early setup is now helping it thrash AT&T and Verizon. Both of T-Mobile’s largest American rivals are now investing desperately in a bid to catch up.

In layman terms, one of the biggest advantages that T-Mobile users have over AT&T and Verizon customers nowadays is bandwidth. Download speeds on T-Mobile are practically double those of competitors: 485 Mbps vs less than 300 Mbps each for the other two.

More effective than a marketing campaign

In a recent poll, we asked you how this report might have affected your disposition towards T-Mobile. Most respondents, almost 40 percent of you, said that you were now considering switching to T-Mobile after seeing the results.

Around 31 percent of voters said that download speeds aren’t enough to make them want to switch. Lastly, a little over 29 percent of you said that you would stick with AT&T or Verizon because, as the report pointed out, the two were improving rapidly.

What about you? Was the report good enough to make you want to switch to T-Mobile?

AT&T and Verizon will catch up

The poll results aren’t as skewed as I initially imagined they would be. This is because AT&T and Verizon are not just sitting around idly as T-Mobile races ahead.

Both carriers have strong intentions to catch up to the un-carrier and perhaps even surpass it. Still, T-Mobile’s long-term planning is to be commended here.

I would think twice about switching to T-Mobile

Not that T-Mobile isn’t an excellent carrier, but many of the voters are correct in understanding that download speeds aren’t the end-all be-all of wireless networks.

Each region across the country has differing levels of network coverage and strength. Just because T-Mobile is faster in the report doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be better than AT&T and Verizon wherever you live.

Also, I would advise you to at least wait until the contentious transition to the T-Life app is complete and T-Mobile has ironed out any kinks.
