There's a pair of new flagship phones on the horizon, and they feature massive batteries, high-end specs, and dedicated Bose speakers. I think I found my next phone! The latest leak from WinFuture details everything about the upcoming POCO flagships — the POCO F9 Pro and POCO F9 Ultra.

POCO used to make super-affordable phones but slowly moved toward the premium smartphone segment. The upcoming phones are packed with high-end, flagship specs.
The Poco F9 Pro features a 6.59-inch OLED screen with a 185 Hz display refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and a 12GB/256GB base memory configuration. The main camera is 200MP, paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The phone will come equipped with a 6,330mAh battery pack supporting 100W wired charging.
Meanwhile, the POCO F9 Ultra will feature a bigger 6.85-inch display with the same 185 Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a 16GB/512GB configuration memory configuration, and a larger 8,050mAh battery with the same super-fast 100W wired charging support.
The main camera is again a 200MP snapper, but the ultrawide uses a 50MP sensor in this model, and the 50MP telephoto has 5x optical zoom, pointing toward a periscope system. Both phones have a dedicated Bose speaker in the camera bump!

Dedicated Bose loudspeakers and HiLight notification system

I was quite impressed with the first iteration of this system inside the POCO F8 Ultra. You can check out my review, but long story short, the bass is amazing. It might not be on the level of a dedicated Bluetooth speaker, but it's better than any phone I've tested. Much better.
POCO used a tablet speaker tuned by Bose to blast out low frequencies for the F8 Ultra, and I assume the case is similar with these new models. The interesting thing is that the F8 Pro will be equipped with the system as well. Last year, only the Ultra model got the Bose treatment.
Another cool thing is the notification LED around the Bose speaker. POCO has its own version of the Pixel HiLight system, and it will be interesting to see it in person.
There are leaked images as well, to accompany the massive specs leak, leaving nothing to the imagination. Both phones look very similar to their respective predecessors, and you can see the LED around the Bose speaker lit in the POCO F9 Ultra render.
Should you be excited about the new POCO phones?
I know these are Chinese phones (actually a rebrand of the Redmi K100 series) meant for the EU market, but still I'm very excited. Not only because I live in the EU and will test these firsthand, but also because the smartphone is moving and big names such as Apple and Samsung couldn't turn a blind eye forever.
Smartphones pushing 10,000 mAh in the battery department are becoming more and more mainstream, and now we have two generations of phones, equipped with a dedicated sub-woofer. The specs are great and in most cases they're even better than what the latest Galaxy or iPhone has to offer.
Sadly, the prices have also caught up on these POCO phones. According to WinFuture, the POCO F9 Ultra will start at €999 (~$1,156) in Germany for the 16GB/512GB configuration, while the Poco F9 Pro could sell for €799 (~$925) for the 12GB/256GB variant. Now these are serious prices, chip shortage or not, and not many people will be prepared to dish out that kind of money on a POCO phone. Would you buy any of these phones?
